Some background info on these:

Maybe there should be some spinoff threads to this:

Surprised so-and-so is Catholic (again) - a revert thread

Surprised so-and-so still calls (himself, herself) Catholic

or

Surprised so-and-so was once baptized as a Catholic - (currently non-practicing)

 or … not! 😉

PS… let me add that, when I first came across this thread, I had hoped that, by learning more about which famous people were Catholic, I might find some public role models to help me in my ongoing quest become a better person than I am today. Who knows? Maybe I still will. When it comes to learning how to be a good person and a good Catholic, I know that I am an imperfect person on a lifelong journey.
This may help you. I’m a cradle Catholic and when I was growing up both the nuns that taught me and my mother said that if you’re Catholic, other people are always watching you and your behavior. In otherwords, set a good example. So, if you’re speaking of a Catholic Hollywood star or a politician, you expect them at least publicly to set a good example. If they’re in a trashy movie, you might expect them to at least admit they made the wrong choice. If they’re plugging same sex marriage or pro choice views, they are accountable because they’re public figures and known as Catholics. So, others can say, well they’re Catholics and they believe in this so it must be okay. Remember when much is given, must is expected as Jesus said. We are all sinful people and I’m not judging them, im judging their behavior.

Nicole Sherzinger. Pop singer and former lead singer of the Pussycat Dolls. She is a lifelong Catholic who has never missed Sunday Mass. She even led her bandmates in prayer before every performance.

As was mentioned out in the Daredevil thread, Charlie Cox, the British actor who plays (the very Catholic) Matt Murdock/Daredevil, also played St. Josemaría Escrivá, the founder of Opus Dei, in There Be Dragons, as well as roles in Boardwalk Empire, Downtown Abbey, The Theory of Everything, Stardust, and other films and series.

Cox is also a practicing Catholic.

Another Catholic actor: Frank Finlay, the veteran British actor who played Porthos in The Three Musketeers and The Four Musketeers in the 1970s, as well as hundreds of other roles, is according to his IMDB bio, a devout Catholic and a member of the British Catholic Stage Guild (now the Catholic Association for the Performing Arts (U.K.)

Interesting. Good to know that Catholicism is still alive and well in the land of Newman, Belloc and Chesterton!

Another British actor who is a devout Catholic is Matthew Marsden. His credits include Black Hawk Down, John Rambo and Transformers, Revenge of the Fallen. He featured part in Rosary Stars Praying the Rosary.

Richard Harris. The 1st Dumbledore in the Harry Potter Series (among many other roles). He was a practicing Roman Catholic and even a Knight of Malta.

True, he had his faults. He had a bit of a drinking problem at some time in his life (although he eventually stopped). He was divorced multiple times (but to his credit he stated he would rather die a bad Catholic then have the Church change to suit him) and he supported the IRA until their bombing campaign in the 1970’s started (but publicly renounced his support as a result thereof).
