Hello:
I was “double teamed” (so to speak) by two well meaning lovely lady colleagues yesterday, both of whom happen to be Southern Baptists. They know that I am a Catholic convert from a Baptist tradition and were asking about various tenants of the Catholic faith. We discussed the usual topics such as OSAS, Sola Scriptura, Sola Fide, etc. and every time I brought up supporting scripture, instead of the rapid-fire-verse-assault that I usually get, one of them would always reply “Well, I’ll have to ask my pastor about that” and then the other would move on to another theological topic. I thought they were pretty honest with that reply. In my experience, I’ve never encountered that response to every topic that we discussed.
Any thoughts? 🤷

Maybe you’ll convert the preacher too! 😃
Not you, but God working in you. I believe that God is ready to show sincere
people everything they need, but I think sometimes we get in His way. It looks
like you stayed out of His way today…
…may His kingdom come on earth as it is in heaven… 👍

Not to be a buzz-kill, but I think the response was just a brush-off. They weren’t expecting someone to have Scriptural counter-arguments, so they used that excuse. Nice work though! I would consider it a victory for you and Truth. 👍
