Surrounded by Unbelievers and straight-up anti-Christians

Sorry, I have to ask for some prayers for myself.

Lately i feel like everyone in my life outside of my family and church (and even some in my family…) are unbelievers and even hostile towards Christianity, especially the Catholic Church. My boss for one and most of the people I work with. I actually don’t interact with many other people and don’t have a lot of friends because I recently came back to the Church and sort of had to stop hanging around people who were “corrosive” to my new faith. But with my job I have no choice for the moment–i have to be around them.

I ask for prayers to strengthen my faith and help me say and do the right things according to the Faith to be a good example of a disciple around these people to maybe turn some of them.

(P.S. I am still relatively recently returned to the Church after a lifetime of falling away and I don’t want to lose faith again because of what people say around me.)
 
Amen. I pray for you and for your co-workers. May they have respect for other’s religions. We’re with you.

Dear Lord, please bring peace to the petitioner, may his faith in you be renewed everyday. By being a good Catholic, may he influence the views of others.
 
Please do not lose faith because of others. It is in your hands. Be influenced by people for the right reasons. I will pray for you tomorrow morning, may your faith grow daily and not diminish. Try reading a small psalm/share your faith with a friend/someone you trust. Amen.

Praying very hard for you. I love the Catholic religion and wouldn’t give it up for anything. I also have some people in my life who are athiests. I ignore them and sometimes get in their face when they really irritate me. The athiests I know are very unhappy people and misery loves company. Hang in there!

Today turned out to be a better day. I guess yesterday was kind of bad with regard to a lot of anti-religious comments, etc. Today was pretty free of that sort of thing so I felt better. I still need to be strong for those moments of confrontation. I don’t think I will lose my faith because of these people but I often shy away from confrontation or speaking up for the faith and it makes me feel very weak and bad about myself. I am not ashamed of Christ but I often am afraid to engage in confrontations with unbelievers and I need to get over that.

There seem to be so many unbelievers and anti-Christians these days. Could be my location in sunny southern California but wow, I just don’t remember there being such a huge population of anti-religious people – it’s feels like since I have come back to the faith the whole world around me has gone to the evil one…

The main stream media and groups like the ACLU are pushing the anti-Christian movement in this country so it’s getting more exposure than ever and they are becoming more bold. We need to combat this through prayer and by example by the way we live our lives. Hang in there and persevere, God is on our side!
 
I will pray for you and your intentions at Mass, in my daily prayers, and before the Blessed Sacrament.
