I was disappointed with this article since its headline suggested it would spell out those 72 grants. Unfortunately, the article simply rehashed what most of us here already knew.
Komen claims that grant money to Planned Parenthood is for breast services only, but Planned Parenthood records show that their breast services are declining while their abortion numbers are increasing. Are “breast services” simply window dressing to attract women into abortion clinics?
This is a poor argument which supports what Komen is doing with Planned Parenthood. Not for profit organizations need to find funding for their programs. When they can’t find funding, those programs tend to disappear. The fact that Planned Parenthood, nationwide, is decreasing their breast services actually highlights the importance of Komen funding to keep local breast screening programs intact.

To be clear, I think Komen should find alternate providers of breast screening. I don’t know how easy that would be.
