Class of 2009!!!

It was a beautiful and very meaningful Mass and Father blessed all our Mary statues following the reception.

Happy Easter, everyone!:signofcross:

Congratulations!!! I just returned home from the Easter Vigil.

A beautiful story: One of the young ladies who was being confirmed in the church had probably her fiancee as her sponsor. I was able to sit on the front row and really have a great view of the whole ceremony. As Father was annointing her with the oil, her fiancee was crying. It was such a beautiful experience. I was crying remembering when I did it back in '07.

Blessings to all of you who just joined the Church.

When I went through RCIA there was a couple who I thought was just going through the motions for the girl’s mother, who was very active in the Parish. It honestly seemed like they didn’t really care.

The night of the Vigil their baby son was baptized just after the father. I can still clearly picture the scene. As the priest baptized the baby boy the father, in his own new white robe, began sobbing, and kissed his son on the forehead.

I learned then not to judge people so quickly. 😊

on a happier note: Welcome Home all you shiny new Catholics!

:extrahappy::extrahappy::extrahappy: WELCOME HOME!! :extrahappy::extrahappy::extrahappy:

Congratulations!!!

I was ear to ear with a grin last night at Easter Vigil. It’s just so heartwarming to see new Catholics! Welcome home, everybody! We’re glad to have you. :extrahappy: :clapping:

I was confirmed last night too and my baby was baptised. It was magical! <3

A beautiful verse from Scripture for you:

So then
you are no longer strangers and sojourners,
but you are fellow citizens with the saints
and members of the household of God,
built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets,
Christ Jesus himself being the cornerstone,
in whom the whole structure is joined together
and grows into a holy temple in the Lord;

***in whom you also are built into it ***
for a dwelling place of God in the Spirit.

Letter of St. Paul to the Ephesians, 2.19-22

Congratulations!

I love hearing about folks entering the Church! I need the fervent spirit which I often see in converts.

I guess folks start going to confession shortly after. No need to go now though!

I was confirmed and received my first Eucharist last night too. It was so beautiful, even though I was so nervous. I don’t know if this is standard but my church had the candidates light the candles as we walked in. I thought for sure that I was gonna light something other than a candle on fire.

What surprised (and thrilled) me most was my fiancé. He is somewhat of a lapsed Catholic and he was singing and speaking along with the rest of them. He didn’t receive the Eucharist ( he hadn’t been to a Catholic Church other than to take meet with Father about the wedding) in over a year but he kneeled and started to cry!😃

DH and I swam the Tiber too! Congrats to all of the other swimmers. A deep thank you to all of you who were there waiting for us!
