Sword Drills: Need input

I was going to title this thread, “Weird Scripture Stuff” but thought better of it. One of the things my 6th grade CCD class liked most last year was “Sword Drills” – races in class to locate Scripture verses and answer a question.

For example:

Q. What was unusual about the man of great stature in 2 Sam. 21:20?

A. He had six fingers on each hand and six toes on each foot, and he was descended from the giants.

I’m looking for verses that 1) instruct and verses (like the one above) that 2) entertain.

My Father was terribly fond of quoting this scripture in a threatening tone…

Eph 6: 1: Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right.
2: “Honor your father and mother” (this is the first commandment with a promise),
3: “that it may be well with you and that you may live long on the earth.”

Aren’t Sword Drills used in most Baptist churches? You might broaden your search to see if they have a curriculum.
 
The dramatic journey of Paul to Rome in Acts 27 has lots of exciting stories. Like what did they jettison in v. 29? The anchors.
 
I don’t have any specific ones for you, but if you have a children’s bible the breaks it into different stories, you could use that as a basis for a bunch.
