Random questions:

I know Indian Orthodox and Syrian Catholics in India, being adopted to the culture of South India, use those lamps similar to the ones Hindus use. Do they burn olive oil in them? Or ghee?

And what kind of lamps are used at home? Is it also an South Indian-style lamp? (Pictures would be appreciated. :D)

I think in India palm or coconut oil is more commonly used because of its local availability.
