When you think about it, the slaughters of the 20th Century are all products of the Enlightenment, so called. “Reason” is not the sure guide to civility that many thought.

The Enlightenment was not limited to revolutionary France.

The Thirty Years War was a campaign of Catholics against protestants over a century before the Enlightenment.

“Reason” is not the sure guide to civility that many thought.

And, apparently, neither was religious enlightenment. “Love of neighbor as yourself” took it on the nose quite a bit between the time of the Resurrection and the Enlightenment.

20Sep13…Bollocks. This wouldn’t have happened if the West had not been giving FREE monies to these countries in the name of AID. The male population in these countries have been filled with ‘mindspeak’ that the more children they have…the more powerful they are. They don’t mind giving up some of their children to become soldiers. The families hope they stand a chance of ‘getting’ something (mainly money) out of it. They would sell their souls to the devil in an instant.

However, since the turn of the 20th century, there haven’t been tooooooo many children soldiers.
