I highly disagree with this assessment of Karl Rahner’s systematic theology, particularly as found in Foundations of Christian Faith. That many have decided to abuse some of the more speculative parts of his theology to push their own agendas (liberation theology being one example) is a shame. It is not an accurate characterization of his work. He certainly does not belong in the same category as Kung.Of course, if you don’t want to risk reading heresy (Karl Rahner, Hans Kung, Liberation theology etc.) then stick with the official handbook.
