Great story. Never heard about this fire. Can you imagine spending six hours in a river with fire all around you.!!!

Its still holds the record as the deadliest fire in the US. Unfortunately, it isn’t well known because it took place in a remote part of Wisconsin and the Great Chicago Fire took place the same day. By the time news of Peshtigo reached the major newspapers of the US, all attention was on Chicago.

So God intervened miraculously during a fire that was killing thousands and saved - a tabernacle?!:confused:
 
i have a good friend from wisconsin and she had just mentioned the Peshtigo fire to me this year. i had never heard of the fire either, but did some research on the internet and read about it. this is a very interesting story.
