So anyone play table top games? Like D&D, Pathfinder, Shadowrun ect?
 
I’ve been a fan of D&D since 2e, with a notable exception of 4e. Rifts/Palladium is interesting, but it suffers from power creep and over-complications. D20 has the same power creep problem but I’ve heard Pathfinder addressed that pretty well. Renaissance is good fun, and so is Deadlands. I’ve had only marginal luck with White Wolf games. And I’ve never had the opportunity to play a Shadowrun game on tabletop.
 
I try my hand at many systems. Going to hunt through some on a website to see if I can grab a few to test on the local gaming populous here. Introduce them to something new.

Never been a huge Dungeons and Dragons fan as aside from the Planescape and Dark Sun settings I found it a bit too much of ‘ho hum just another high fantasy world’ type stuff.

Surely this is a complaint about the campaign world, not about the D&D game itself. It’s quite possible to play D&D in a low fantasy setting.

Agreed. Ravenloft is a great example of low fantasy. I do believe some of the OGL D20 products were low fantasy as well. Scarred Lands if I remember correctly.

Personally D&D has gone and destroyed themselves that they even let a game like Pathfinder to rip it off thinking they would crash and burn and when they didn’t came out with a new D&D that crashed and burned, thus I prefer Pathfinder as I think it’s a little more balanced and the multi-class balance is fun to make and play

I am still going to try 5th Ed D&D because it looks interesting. Have heard great things about it.

Lots of systems use D20. It was a purposeful tactic.

And 5e is super fun. 4th edition was a disaster.
 
Personally, I find 4th Edition underrated and 5th Edition little more than serviceable. To each their own.
