Nope. Not the ACC. The local Continuing Anglican Church in the US that is a part of (and the origin of) the TAC is the Anglican Church in America (ACA). All other parts (13 jurisdictions, I think) are overseas.Interesting. I think it would be good for there to be an Anglican Rite, with marriagable priests. At any rate, do you know what Continuing Anglican Churches comprise the TAC? If so, is my former church, the Anglican Catholic Church, among them?
I wonder the same things.I don’t know that the fact that four Bishops have decided to come into the Catholic Church without going through one of the Continuing Churches first really says too much about those jurisdictions. I think it just proves that the Continuing movement is really small compared to ECUSA and the Catholic Church. It’s such a small number of people who are in it that so many haven’t even heard of it. I obviously don’t know about the Bishops involved, but it wouldn’t surprise me if at least one of them hadn’t heard of it.
I don’t know that anything will come of this. This same thing has been discussed several times, and nothing has happened yet. I know that a lot of the laity in the TAC aren’t too happy with the idea of a reunion with Rome, so it would be interesting to see how many actually do become Catholics if Rome would accept the TAC, especially if the TAC would be completely absorbed into the Latin Rite.
