Are you familiar with this community?

I’m planning to visit it in Taize France and Godwilling it’ll be in 2007.I’ll make a one week pilgrimage and hope will meet some new friends at my age too and renew my faith. This kind of retreat I need in my life and I think all christians/catholics need it too.
If you are interested you can visit the link www.taize.fr

By the way I’m myself catholic and in Taize all christian denominations and catholics are one in faith.

Also Taize is well-known with its singing/meditating/praying.

I’m just wondering, why not make a retreat at a Catholic monastery? The Trappist are in France.

Hi Cherubim,

I’ve never been to Taize. I did organise a trip once, and ended up missing it due to illness! The others had a great time.

Taize has been a lifeline of faith for many of my friends. It has a simplicity, a beauty and focus that seems to be invigorating.

Hope you have a wonderful time. If you can get your hands on some of the cds, you might enjoy getting to know the chants before you go. I was actually praying with a cd of Taize music this morning, as it happens… I’ve also been told that learning to sit on the floor for an hour without really moving is also helpful 😃
