So you don’t agree with the Republican Rand Paul? Regardless, IS is a result of the US invasion of Iraq. Can you give us someone who referred to IS or to ISIS before the US invasion of Iraq?
No, I don’t agree with Rand Paul.

ISIS has already been demonstrated to have been in existence prior to the invasion of Iraq.

Your blame America routine has passed its expiration date.

Can you give us a published article which referred to IS, or ISIS, or ISIL before the Americans invaded Iraq?

Honestly, who cares and what difference does it make now? If having Rand Paul as a personal foreign policy advisor makes you happy, then more power to you.

It makes a big difference because it is the founders of IS who in October 2006 swore by Allah to rid Iraq of the American invaders. If ISIS or IS or ISIL was founded before then, please give us the name of one article, published before October 2006, that referred to IS, ISIS or ISIL. The Mujahideen Shura Council, together with other Sunni extremists, proclaimed the formation of the Islamic State of Iraq (ISI) in October 2006.
Further, we see millions of refugees fleeing ISIS, and flooding Europe. But if the US is responsible, at least in part for this massive humanitarian crisis, then it has a responsibility to help Europe and to take in its share of the millions of refugees seeking shelter.

Tom, your whole concept seems to be “if it happened after Iraq got invaded, the US caused it.”

So I guess the virus that ate my computer last year was caused by the USA: I mean, that virus was created after the invasion of Iraq!

I asked before and I’ll ask again, only because your non-answering is entertaining: please say some good things about the USA, just to prove you’ve got it in you. You can do it, Tom, we’ve all got faith in you!

I guess you haven’t been paying attention because I have said a lot of good things about America. For example, the American In-N-Out Hamburgers are so good that it makes people break down and cry when they find out that a new place has opened up in their area and they are able to buy a hamburger and fries:

Being smarmy doesn’t make you look good, Tom. Your unwillingness to say something bona fide speaks volumes.

Supposedly, Pope Francis told us and our parishes to accept Syrian families. Let’s discuss that.
This is a very good idea. The USA is a wealthy and powerful country and as such can and should offer the Syrian refugees the possibility of coming to America. Their presence as American immigrants will give them the possibility of forming vibrant and dynamic communities which will enrich and enhance American life and culture. Already, the USA has seen many examples of this: the Irish, the Germans, the English, the Jews, the Italians, the Armenians, the Vietnamese, the Koreans, to name a few, all contributing to the American cultural landscape. Compassion and charity are needed to help those suffering people fleeing from the brutal terror and hateful ideology of ISIS. The world has seen this before.

Our focus should be establishing safe zones near/within their home countries and providing shelter, food and medical care.

Actually its pretty disappointing - this did not need to happen - the world should of worked together to put an end to this a long time ago regardless of how we got there but as usual most countries are gutless and could careless. the United Nations is a useless organization with no teeth and have been very shameful in their conduct of what has been going on. Most of the world will stand idly by and just throw money at the problem which will not make it go away. The world has failed here.

This article, published in the UK’s Daily Mail two weeks ago, notes that the “super-wealthy Gulf nations of Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates (UAE), Qatar, Kuwait and Bahrain have refused to offer sanctuary to a single Syrian refugee. … Gulf nations argue that accepting large numbers of Syrian refugees is a serious threat to the safety of its citizens because terrorists could hide themselves among civilians.”

Meanwhile, googling [terrorists crossing into US] turns up 14,000,000 hits. 🤷

From Ireland where Syrian families are expected within weeks… there is a great backwash of racism afoot here and side by side an outpouring of caring. There is a news site called breaking news.ie where the comments are appallingly offensive. Ireland seems to have forgotten its history , how many abandoned these shores and were accepted in so many other countries. When they speak of " homelessness" here by the way they mean living in emergency accommodation and not on the streets where numbers are still blessedly small. The charity begins at home writers…

Generous welfare benefits, after all, are why Germany and Sweden are the two favorite destinations of many recent migrants to begin with. From this link (emphasis mine):

“…Many refugees choose to seek asylum in northern Europe rather than following EU immigration rules and applying where they first arrive. … Sweden receives the highest number of refugees per capita in the EU and is second only to Germany as a destination for Syrians…”

And, as the Daily Mail reports (again, emphases mine):
As Europe locks down its borders, eye witnesses claim** fewer than a third of refugees** who have made it to Germany are Syrian – and some are even ISIS infiltrators
  • Refugees who are fleeing areas of Syria torn apart by war say they are being joined by** thousands of imposters**
  • Desperate refugees claim as many as** seven in every ten migrants heading to Europe are lying about their past**

I fear that the influx of moslem “refugees” into our country and into European countries bodes ill for Western civilization. The vast preponderance of young, military age males will provide our moslem enemies with a ready-made pool of killers to unleash havoc on our unsuspecting population. The moslem Obama has made this very possible by his weak stance on immigration. We will be fighting in the streets because the moslems will bring their false, anti-western religion with them and will attempt to force it’s tenets upon us. Their agenda is clear, they will convert us, enslave us or kill us, this is the unrelenting goal of Islam and has been since the very beginning. I fear that as an old man, I will again be forced to take up arms to defend my country and my family, because our pusillanimous “president” will not do it. My last drop of blood for my country. Compassion is one thing, survival as a civilization and as a people is another. It is their false religion and what it demands of moslems that makes them so horribly dangerous. There seems to be no such thing as a “moderate moslem”, “radical moslems” kill, " moderate moslems" applaud them.
