I would try to avoid going further than the altar rail, but some parishes don’t have one, so it’s harder to know. Certainly, no one should be touching the actual altar and if there is a defined space around the altar and the tabernacle, I would stay on the far side of it. However, there’s certainly nothing wrong with taking pictures in the Church. Otherwise, how could we have wedding pictures and Baptism pictures?
