i could EASILY ignore BHO if he ever showed up at Mass…

Ok… so i’d be SHOCKED at first… especially considering how un-Cathlic he is…

but it’s not like i’d sit there the whole time, staring at him, thinking, “Whoa… the Presdent… the actual Presdient of the United States… whoaaaaa…”

all the while ignoring the priest… .etc…

now Ronald Reagan… hmm… let me think about that one… :o

distracted ~ before I was Catholic I was a follower of the Pantanjali school of yoga. Where, ahimsa is an imperative. It is a sanskrit word, that means nonviolence. Gandhi is the most famous for applying ahimsa to politics. Quakers also have this imperative. I found it interesting it surfaced in a random online quiz. :cool: I also think it is why Hinduism is lurking around there in the top 10, as Pantanjali yoga is based on Hindu thought and beliefs. (I never considered myself as Hindu. I was an atheist.)

you know distracted i’m not into it…I was just stating the obvious that if you don’t know look it up. This is about sharing the results of an online quiz, not about you, or your or anyone else’s politcal beliefs…The quiz is about determining what religion one is and ANYone can take it.

  1. Mainline to Conservative Christian/Protestant (100%)
  2. Seventh Day Adventist (92%)
  3. Eastern Orthodox (90%)
  4. Roman Catholic (90%)
  5. Orthodox Quaker (83%)**

    I could be SDA pretty easily but I think they worry about the end to much. Don’t know about Eastern Orthodox, Catholics are to extra Biblical and I don’t know anything about Quakers**

they hate Catholics…

Ok, so they hate the Church not Catholics per se…

but to hate the Church is to hate Jesus… the One who established the RCC…

all “churches” that came with and after Luther are man-made…

why would anyone want man-made when they can have God-made…?

Only those who don’t know the joys and benefits of being Catholic…

Ahimsa has behind it Hindu beliefs that I don’t hold, such as karma and animal souls are equal to human souls. So maybe just say “I am nonviolent.” Which entails the practice of “turning the other cheek”. Until someone speaks of how it is OK to kill the unborn. And then you calmly explain how it is not ok, and pray for them.

You do know that Christianity itself is a religion, so if you don’t want to ever be religious you will have to give up that too.

I don’t believe the Catholic church was the one founded by Christ, I was Catholic and escaped it by God’s Grace. I was raised in a Christian home but I rebelled and went Catholic, it is unfortunate that my parents can’t see that I returned to Christ.

that’s what i do…

it’s just not what i would LIKE to do… to some of the more virulent pro-aborts…

that Jesus… He sure stops you from doing lots of stuff you want to do… 😃
 
No surprises here - … Though I did not care for the exact wording of some options for some of the answers. As I was taking the quiz I wondered how it would really come out … And I was a little surprised about the placemnet of Hinduism … I know a Catholic Priest who was a Buddhist Monk before coming into the Catholic Faith … Mahayana Buddhism was 16th on my list …

I am guessing Eatern ORthodox come before Roman Catholic - alphabetically …

I guess this lends credence to the church’s teaching that there is some Truth in all faiths 👍

as one saint said “The Church IS Christ”

and its funny because i had the exact same thought long before i heard of that saint…

i was raised Catholic too but wasn’t taught the faith to speak of… I taught myself Chruch teaching and history several years ago… I had left the Church when young, made a lot of stupid / horrendous mistakes… then one day when my life hit rock bottom… i found this cheap plastic rosary… and for reasons i have yet to figure out, i began to pray the thing… I didn’t have the time or the desire to pray it but i did so anyway… very strange but in any case, i began to go back to JEsus… first coming back “just” to Jesus… minus the Church… yet i never had anything against the RCC so i eventually started going to Mass… At first, i felt u/comfortable after having been gone so long, sinned so much… i had this thought as i stood there during Mass one Sunday: “These people are too holy for me… I can’t be in this Church…” but something made me stay… and i’m so glad i did… I finally realized it was Christ’s holiness i felt… the Real PResence, not the holiness of the members of the Church, per se, that i felt so strongly that day).

i found out it was a mortal sin to miss Mass & that made me angry 'cause sounded so legalistic (i’d been “protestantized”) but when i began going evey Sun, well, words can’t explain how much good it did… Then i discovered daily Mass…

I was “born again” when very young, before all the falling away and chaos… it was a wonderful feeling to be filled w/ the Spirit… but i did not fully know Christ like i do today…

i never knew much about the Cross… his sufferings… until i prayed the sorrowful mysteries (and other things: Stations of the Cross, etc)…

have you ever spent time in the Exposed Real Presence? there is nothing like that…

There are bad things going on in the Church today… worse than any other time in history, probably… yet i can say this;

I do not believe the RCC is the Chruch Christ established on Earth… I KNOW it is…

if you walked in my shoes, you would understand why i say that…

I think you might be confusing the Seventh Day Adventists with the Jehovah’s Witnesses … we definately have lots more in common with SDA the JW’s

i didn’t like the wording either… kept looking for “all of the above”… and kept being somehow dissatisfied with the various choices…

but Hinduism was #3 on my list… :hmmm:

hmmm… don’t know a blasted thing about them except they don’t eat animals and i think they are the ones who think human souls inhabit animals…

anyway… there is one thing we Catholics have that no other religion has: ***the Eucharist / the Real (tangible) Presence of Christ in the Church… ***
and there is absolutely NOTHING to compare to that… in this world… 🙂

well… that’s hardly a compliment… 😃

what i dislike most about non-Catholic religons is they don’t like Catholics…

they say its just the Church they don’t like but it seems they really just don’t like US…

or do i just take things too personally…? yes, i probably do…

actually what bothers me more than that is that some non-Catholics don’t even seem the least bit interested in studying what claims to be (is) the original Christian Church…

I’m just not where they are… i tell myself… and yet… how cn a Christian not be interested in their Lord’s history (in the world)???
