The Eucharist is not a cookie idol. The Eucharist is His presense. It is him. You are being uncharitable. We worship Jesus. Not a wafer. The process is called transbutation. Actually we do not have preachers, we have priest who dedicate there lives to Christ and have apostolic succession. I feel sorry that you do not appreciate his presense:(. For the record I am not a dude.😦 Based on the above response, I am not sure that I am conversing with an adult:confused:

This started with your idolatry comment that I responded to. You can disagree with the real presence - on a thread dedicated to it - without resorting to name-calling (idolatry) and referring to it as a “cookie”. Those of us who believe in His real presence in the Eucharist consider it offensive. I and I’m sure others would be happy to discuss real presence vs. symbolic presence with you charitably - in a thread dedicated to that subject. Why don’t you start one?

I know what it is I was lost in Catholicism for 10 years before returning to Christ

The RCC adds errant doctrine to God’s Word, they are heretical. But God calls to Salvation who He wills so even though the RCC is not a Christian organization there can be real Christians in there.

The Catholic Church is most certainly a Christian Church. There are many Christian churches that I believe mix error with truth, but virtually any church that holds the trinitarian doctrine is Christian.

It’s a question I ask people quite often. In fact, I have asked Catholics this very question, asking them what makes Christianity and Mormonism mutually exclusive.

The answer is always some list of attributes that Christians supposedly MUST believe in (or must NOT believe in, whatever) in order to BE Christians. That list (oddly enough) generally matches precisely with whatever doctrine the guy denying me my Christianity believes.

I wonder what the requirements for Christianity are here, that would keep Catholics from the definition?

(shrug)

…and just who is supposed to be the final authority in the matter?
