Funny…if I weren’t Catholic, I’d be EO; if not EO, I don’t know. Quaker? Methinks thee be wrong, friend.

Eastern Orthodox and Roman Catholic 97%
A new one to pop up was Hinduism at 96%!!! :o

I guess “secular humanism” is shorthand for realistic, cares about social issues and the environment, and doesn’t bother judging or condemning. Who knew?

I (Lutheran) had the same result. 😉

I do not agree with most of these choices. I would never be Protestant, if I was not a Catholic Christian I would not be a Christian at all, I would go back to my pagan roots. I might look into Orthodox Judaism, but I doubt if I would choose it because ethnicity is a big deal for me and I am not Jewish. I left Jehovah’s Witnesses bitterly and would never consider Seventh Day Adventist at all. I would not consider Islam or Mormonism either. I have looked into New Thought and I have considered Nontheist in moments of despair. (this is not a judgement on anyone else–just what is right for me.)

So what kind of Catholic are you?

Catholic Quiz: What Kind of Catholic Are You?
You scored 76, on a scale of 0 to 100. Here’s how to interpret your score:

0 - 25
You are a Centering Prayer (very progressive) Catholic. More about you.
26 - 50
You are an Ignatian Exercises (moderately progressive) Catholic. More about you.
51 - 75
You are a Divine Office (moderately traditional) Catholic. More about you.
76 - 100
You are a Daily Rosary (very traditional) Catholic. More about you.

You Are a Daily Rosary (Very Traditional) Catholic
You’d like the church to revive the time-honored devotions, liturgical practices, and strong institutional discipline that prevailed before the Second Vatican Council—and you’re hoping that Pope Benedict XVI will lead the church in exactly that direction. Your favorite hymn is probably a traditional Latin composition such as the “Panis Angelicus,” and your favorite pope is probably a pioneer of the Church’s great liturgical tradition such as Gregory the Great. You loved “The Passion of the Christ.”

but I consider myself much closer to this:

You Are a Divine Office (Moderately Traditional) Catholic
The Second Vatican Council was much needed, as far as you’re concerned, but you see no reason to push the church further in the direction of change, as many progressives urge. You like the dynamic combination of the traditional approach toward doctrine with the opening of the church to the world that Pope John Paul II (your favorite pope) represented. As far as liturgy is concerned, a reverent Mass in the vernacular is your favorite, as is a vernacular hymn with a feeling for the transcendent such as “Let All Mortal Flesh Keep Silence.” When Nicole Kidman returned to her childhood Catholicism and regular Mass attendance, you were thrilled.

hmmmmm it seems like the Quakers must have recently made a sizable contribution to Belief Net dot com… 😃

Well, I’ll just post the top three:
  1. Eastern Orthodox (100%)
  2. Roman Catholic (100%)
  3. Mainline to Conservative Christian/Protestant (99%)
Nothing else was above 90%.

Well - I’m a little surprised but here’s mine (70% and up only)
  1. Orthodox Quaker (100%)
  2. Seventh Day Adventist (94%)
  3. Eastern Orthodox (94%)
  4. Roman Catholic (94%)
  5. Mainline to Conservative Christian/Protestant (91%)

  8. Hinduism (71%)
Only thing I can figure is that my views on war bumped up the Quaker. Don’t know about the 7DA.

Interesting though.

I dislike the specificity of some of the questions–the test asks you to take positions on issues that I consider to be mysteries not yet revealed to us.

However, I can’t dispute the results.
