I find some of the groups to be quite active.

It depends on the group leader and how active they are. And the members.

Either that or read books of Gospel Parallels or Synopsis of the Four Gospels.

When I was in highschool I read a New Testament Bible cover to cover over a period of time

I tried to get started on the Old Testament but stopped around Exodus.
