Most of the users I have added to my ignore list end up banned eventually, so I actually don’t come across too many of their posts. 😛

Same here. A person has to be particularly obnoxious or rude for me to put them on my list, but some I don’t bother putting on my ignore list as I predict they will be banned in short order anyway.

I have an ongoing joke with some of the people in the faculty lounge of the college where I teach, which is: “Are you on your break or on your breakdown?” Sometimes it can feel the same way on CAF, so I understand.
I understand! That’s why I post so little…

I have to take breaks sometimes the nitpicking and such just gets to be too much. Still love the place but I have to take a month or two off from time to time so I don’t get frustrated and do something that wouldn’t make the Lord too proud.😛

Although I didn’t this year I generally give up CAF for Lent. That always works out pretty good as a Lent is also during tax season.

Yeah, 30K+ posts…umm…yeah, I don’t post much. 😉
Actually my post count is not correct. About 10 years ago they had a system meltdown and all of old timers had our posts reset to zero.

Welp, that’s not helping with the ribbing. 😃
But what’s really amazing is 30,000 plus posts without a single one being in error or being anything but absolutely right!

I will admit I thought I made a mistake once, but I was wrong

It’s the second coming brothers and sisters!

You’re not going to tell me you walked on water as well are you?🤷

LOL I always go the opposite way and self depriciating humor.

“Wow, in over 3000 posts, I have only been right twice. This post is the second.”

I should make it my sig…

Many of us do this a lot, I’m sure, but I’m going to be taking a break from CAF for the time being. It’s gone from “fun thing I do when I have a spare minute” to “thing that super aggravates me and I’m carrying into the rest of my life,” so it’s time for me to take a break. :o Since I’ve been more active than usual lately, I figured I’d post so the people who might miss me will not worry that perhaps something has happened. It hasn’t!

I am going to set up my notifications so that if you PM me I’ll get an email.

Thanks everybody and have fun!
Sometimes, even a prayer thread gets

I understand.

Have a good rest!

pensmama,

You will definitely be missed. I enjoy reading your posts.

I do understand, though. I belong to different forums, and I “jump in and out,” all of the time, due to different time constraints and health issues. :hug1:

Come back when you are ready.

Take care of yourself.

God bless you.

Thanks! I am trying it out, but I feel better already!

Wow, why didn’t I think to try this before?! 🙂
My pleasure!
I belong to a couple of online forums…one of them is an expat community that can get pretty inflammatory (like wow) and though I haven’t used the ignore feature there, I know some who have. A second forum I belong to has a pretty large turnover rate and the same 5 questions seem to get asked over and over, which can get tiring. Both places I have been at for years, but a break, either avoiding certain members/threads or even not logging in, is never a bad idea. Sometimes I find that I check out a place purely out of habit, and when there is flaming going on or overall negativity, I just feel worse. “Checking out” is the perfect remedy, even if it’s only for a week or two.

Yeah, I’ve been “waiting it out” more and more. 😛 It’s been a while since I’ve added anyone to my ignore list.

Enjoy the break. You have to do what is best for you and your family.

I will admit that I always enjoy reading your posts, because you are among the most thoughtful and reasonable posters on her. Blessings!

There are people I ignore but I have never used the ignore function
yes. My ignore list is quite long in my head. But I know myself enough to know if I put someone on an actual list where I could see they posted but not the content I would go batty. I would always assume it was the worst, most heretical, thing out there. And that they were talking about me. You know, like anyone using a foreign language around me…😉

That’s my problem-if you put them on the ignored list you see replies to them anyway.

My primary reason for ignoring people is new members who are obviously trolls. My second highest reason for ignoring people is people who hold themselves out to be Catholic but have obviously never stepped in a Catholic Church in their life.
