Taking in notes to confession

When I made my First Confession (a general Confession), just before Lent started (I’m becoming a Catholic at the Vigil on Saturday), I took notes with me. Father encouraged me to do so. He told me, “It’s not a memory test!” And he told me afterward that I did just fine.

Don’t go into juicy details. I think a list is appropriate.

Tell the species of each mortal sin, as close an approximation as you can (saying “about x # per month on average” does the trick), and any aggravating factors (ex; possibility of scandal). Like the previous poster said, the priest can clear up any questions specific to your case.
