Talebearing is malicious in nature; therefore, doing it would be sinful.

I think it means gossiping.

If it means gossiping then I’d say it is definitely a sin. It would be breaking the commandment of bearing false witness since 90% of all gossip is lies about a person.

It is my understanding that talebearing can include one or both of the above, but not in all cases. Certianly its not a recipie for holiness.

There is nothing in the subject index of the Catechism about tale bearing or gossip. I cant think of anything good about it, however, I cant see it as a sin, unless it is knowingly false witness. I would guess that as ones walk becomes deeper, gossip will be left behind.
