I am to give a talk to teens in this outreach center on Thurs evening. It is not a Catholic center (which I’d love) but God led me to this place. Anyway, I felt the Holy Spirit moving me to talk abt Phil 4:8

Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is gracious, if there is any excellence and if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.

So my talk centers around how God empowers us to make choices that are good for us in everything that we do and it is by practice that we become good at hearing what God would want for us in tiny baby steps. In these small everyday choices, what we listen to, who we hang around with, how we dress, what we read all fill our minds.

Wow, I’ve kind of stepped out in faith in my attempt to reach out and help kids learn life skills. I feel very passionate abt this and have for a while. I felt God leading me toward something, and I don’t think this is the end Thurs night I think it is just the beginning.

Funny thing my training is in engineering, not teaching, not life skills…not at risk kids!! So I am supposed to begin to develop some materials for their curriculum!!! Why did I agree to that?? Except to say with God all things are possible.

It’s like I see or feel a horizon there of possibilities if only I would continue to answer and move. So I ask for your prayers of confidence for Thurs night and that the Holy Spirit would continue to move me to get these materials together as they should come together and that I would make sure to take a break to listen in the interim. Ha!!

Brothers and sisters please wish me luck I am nervous. Mostly because I am not someone who is perfect or saintly just continuing to strive like everyone else. But I am so wishing to serve Him, that I will be a fool if necessary. If anyone thinks I’m out of my mind and I should leave this to someone qualified I could listen to that also. I just don’t think these skills are taught even to kids who are not ‘at-risk’.

I will keep you in prayer. I don’t think you are crazy at all! The Lord calls us in ways not known to us. It may be to help only one person, or many people…only God knows. God bless you!

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou amongst women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now, and at the hour of our death. Amen.

I started teaching 8th grade CCD at my parish this year and it has been quite an experience. I think the hardest part is going to teach on the nights that you just don’t spiritually have much to offer. I hope that those who read this will pray for me and all those that teach our children in CCD. I honestly believe the Devil attacks you in many ways when you start participating in church activities.

OH I taught 7 th grade CCD several years ago and it is such a personal growth too I found. I will pray for you b/c I think you are right, the enemy is always seeking ways to trip up those who would answer the call to serve.

Bless Mackey Father and protect this child as they seek to bring your light to those baptized children you have called as your own. Help each of us to be priest, prophet and king to fulfill our own baptismal annointing. Give us the right words and thoughts and help us to speak truth lovingly. Amen.

You are working with such an impressionable group this week. May God bless you as you bring Him into their lives. Having taught 7th/8th grade, I know that you don’t have to say much to get their attention. Even if it isn’t a Catholic group, if God called you to be there, you WILL touch someone!

Prayers!

Brothers and sisters please wish me luck I am nervous. Mostly because I am not someone who is perfect or saintly just continuing to strive like everyone else.
May The Lord bless your efforts with success “O Lord grant success to the work of our hands”…keeping you in prayer

Go with God friend. He will be there with you, to calm you as you need. His words are the greatest amunition in Heaven and on Earth. What a wonderful gift He has given you!

Father, please guide wgholland in this journey to evangelize to the young people of our world who need You more than ever, especially with the pervasive negative influences the devil has put in their paths to lead them away from You. Please let wgholland’s message reach all who hear, and let them follow the path through the narrow gate.

In the name of Your son Jesus I pray.

Amen

wgholland, you are inspiring me to follow a similar path that He keeps asking me to take, but a path that He requires of us all. My fears continue to make me resist, please pray for me when you have the chance.

Take care friend.

👍

I will pray for your intentions

God Bless,
In Jesus through Mary

Thank you so much brothers and sisters for your prayers. Praise be to Jesus for allowing me the privilege of being His instrument in service to others. Your prayers meant so much to me and I even tossed my prepared notes in my confidence and for the most part it went well. Those kids are eager to hear about the presence of Jesus in the lives of others and I was so happy to share abt the highs and lows of my own spiritual journey as well to discuss the importance of keeping eyes on Christ.

My work will continue with them in the background now as I need to be disciplined abt developing materials to help assist them in life skills and character bldg. I continue to pray that the Holy Spirit will guide me where I need to go for my materials.
