so many people here always recommend going to talk to a priest about the content of their post/question/concern. you know, i have had really bad luck when it comes to interacting with priests. they never really seem to care, or are too busy to even give me the time of day. maybe it’s me, maybe i’m one of those weird people nobody wants to be around. but it just seems strange to me that so many people here recommend talking to priests and whenever i do, all the priest seems to want to do is run away as fast as possible.
when i had a very difficult spiritual issue, i called up a priest looking to make an appointment. it took him a month and a half to call me back. it the meantime, a called a different priest and made an appointment. at the appointment, all the priest could do was watch the clock waiting for the half hour to be over.
when my mom was on her deathbed in the ICU of the hospital, i called up THREE different parish priests. NOT ONE cared enough to get off their lazy, fat butts and give her the sacraments. all they cared about was “is she a member of our parish?”.
whenever i see someone recommending “talk to a priest”, i always think to myself, why bother, they really don’t care anyway. my opinion now is that priests are only there for Mass and Confession, and everything else is up to us to deal with by ourselves.
