“Look man, I’m not really interested in Catholicism, ok! I’m having my brother talk to my cousin who will talk to my next door neighbor who will in turn talk to my mechanic who is going to talk to the deacon who will talk to the priest about my very slim, slight, curiosity about the Catholic Church that by no means represents a commitment to any sort of conversion in the next thirty years! I’m very comfortable in the Cult of Cheese! The yoke of Lord Kraft and his consort Velveeta is quite light!” 😛
That sounds good, I think I’ll try it. 👍:rotfl:

Enquiring minds want to know…😛

I took a look at the site, but the reasons I’m taking a second look have less to do with the perceived authority of the Catholic Church based on apostolic succession and the supposed beauty of its moral teaching.

Rather, Catholicism has a wonderful treasure in it’s sacramental thinking, and it’s long history of picking out the Good in every culture it touches. As Andrew Greeley would put it, “It has a great story”. A story of God becoming man and thereby sanctifying all Men. And the story of Divinity becoming our very food and drink.

Also Catholicism has a rich and nuanced metaphysical outlook which is also attractive.
The bolded parts above are exactly what that book is all about. 👍

It was a start. I have another appointment set for this Friday. I’m actually not hopeful for the eventual outcome, but I’m giving it a try.

Thanks for the update! 🙂 I think “trying” is all God asks. If you ‘open the door’ for God, His Holy Spirit will guide you! 👍

May God Bless you!:signofcross:

What’s with the convergence of all Louisianians on this thread? 😃

May the Lord and Creator of all cheese, who is also the Creator of all crawfish, catfish, gumbo, and jambalaya, under the Sun, be with you in a very cheesy way! 👍

A former New Orleanian 😛
