Yes, now I am relieved. Thank you all very much. Yes I am still a student, but I come from a very atheistic country and I fear that the doctors could laugh at me if I would ask such a question.

Not at all. Doctors, nurses, midwives, and other medical professionals hear all kinds of questions from all kinds of people with different levels of knowledge. They’d like nothing better than to help you, and anyone who would laugh is behaving most unprofessionally and would be subject to complaint.

If your future husband refuses to believe and trust you, you shouldn’t marry him! If a man inspects your hymen that thoroughly, that’s a big red flag because who in their right mind examines a vagina in that sense who isn’t a doctor? Most men wouldn’t be able to tell the difference either way. I don’t personally use tampons, but they’re not sinful. Athletic women, female swimmers, etc. all need to use tampons from time to time. There are also other methods like the menstrual cup, menstrual disc, and period underwear. These products were invented to help women and relieve our periods. Also, every woman is different, so tampons might not be for everybody. It just depends on your preferences. Every woman’s hymen is different too. Some girls aren’t even born with hymens, so it’s incredibly stupid to judge a woman’s virginity on something that doesn’t apply to all women.

I never considered using them because I thought they were sinful and was afraid of tiring my hymen.
Tampons are not a sin.

Using them is not a sin.

Regarding the hymen, lots of activities can tear it, some women don’t have one or much of one, and whether or not it is “intact” is completely irrelevant.

It isn’t a sin.
Now I am horrified. I am scared that my future husband won’t believe me that I didn’t commit a sin and that I am still a virgin.
Honey, hymens are irrelevant. Really.
And that maybe that I even commited a sin indeed.
No dear, you didn’t.
Please tell me what do you think about this.
I think that you need to talk to your mother, or a trusted female adult. Maybe a counselor. You’ve got some wrong ideas about sex, female anatomy, and virginity. And, some serious anxiety.
Do you think that it will be a big problem in future and that I should confess this to a priest as a si?
No. And we don’t confess things that aren’t sins.

A virgin woman do not need obgyn exams.
You are wrong about this and this is misguided advice which shouldn’t be repeated to others.

Ovarian cysts and endometriosis, for example, are serious problems having nothing to do with having been sexually active, and diagnosis involves seeing an obgyn. For virgins and non-virgins alike.

Sure, they can be checks for breast cancer. But breast cancer is rare in young women, and the national programm of screaning (at least where I live) are for woman over 55 years olds.
Some doctors do some manual exams of women younger, but because of tradition not because of official directives.

Cervical cancer is mostly a STD and no, doctors would not do a cervical exams with a speculum on a virgin girl if there is not a reason. At least it is what caring doctors would do. Pap smear are only offered as a routine after 25 years old (or 21 years old in the US). So at an age where the overwelming majority of women are not virgins anymore.
Some doctors would do them on virgins girls but it is not considered as a necessity.
I’m simply saying, please do not advise the OP to not get an exam. There’s nothing wrong with a virgin girl getting an OBGYN exam, as another poster advised. Saying that virgins don’t need exams is incorrect and harmful advice.

Of course they do!

Teens may prefer to talk to their pediatrician about questions like this, their changing body, how to do self care and self exams, what to do for period pain or things like tampons.

The pediatrician can refer to a pediatric or adolescent gynecologist if there are any concerns or abnormalities.

Once a teen turns 18, they can no longer see the pediatrician, so they need their own GP. They can also establish a referral to a gynecologist.

If a woman isn’t sexually active there isn’t a need for many of the exams gynecologists do, but if there’s anything abnormal going on, or if there is a family history of certain conditions, gynecological care would be important.

Even if not, gynecologists do consultations for answering questions and discussing things like menstruation, tampons, breast self exam, etc.

Excuse me? I’m sorry, but that’s ridiculous.
There are a million reasons why a virgin might need ob gyn exams, such as menstrual issues, birth defects, infections, fibroids, and cancer.

I have known women who were lifelong virgins and had significant medical issues requiring ob gyn exams, other procedures and surgery.

Agree, and it’s also medical advice, which is against the rules of the forum.

I wasn’t sure how other Christians view these things because I am a “self-taught” Catholic
Well done on that. Catholic husbands don’t go looking for “proof of virginity”. When you marry someone they should be able to trust you.

Lots of things break the hymen. Women who participate in horse riding often have torn hymens apparently.
