Two days ago my laptop got cranked. I tried to fix it but to no avail. I had my important files in it…and it’s like…My life is in there. I was somehow feeling, I was displeasing God of some sort and not doing His will. Then on the third day, I did something for my neighbor that really moved me.I wasn’t intending to do it that day but I did.quite helped them…and lo and behold when I opened my laptop it was all fixed. I got my files and desktop back without doing anything. Months before my pre-conversion a similar thing happened-----my laptop got cranked–it was dead, my cellphone got destroyed, my files were lost…I also lost some memorable friendships as well. And when I did the will of God, I was better…

Anyhow, did something similar happened to you?

I can’t think of anything right now, although I will tell one story, which I’ve told before.

In the meantime, I think you’d better start making backups of your files. God’s not going to keep resuscitating your crashed laptop for you every time you help a little old lady across the street.

My story - years ago I was involved with leading a “youth group”. One night the leaders organised a party for them in a workshop owned by the one of the leaders.

The next day I got a phone call from one of the girls’ mothers to say her daughter had lost a ring at the party, and that it had sentimental value. Apparently she’d lost it outside the workshop, so I wouldn’t need to organise a key to get in.

So I went and picked this kid up, and we went down to the workshop. She explained she’d been waving her hands around as she talked, and it flew off her finger.

Now we were standing on the footpath. On one side was the road, borderd by a gravel kerb where cars would park. On the other side was grass about three feet high. If it had gone in there, we would never find it.

We had a look around the road, footpath and nearby and found nothing.

So then she had the bright idea that if she waved her hands around and loosened another ring, it might go where the first ring went.

For my part I was convinced she was going to lose two rings, and tried to dissuade her from doing so. But she insisted and away she went.

I didn’t even see the ring go, but she did. It flew across the roadway and landed somewhere in the gravel on the other side. So we walked across, and started searching.

But just as she “tossed” the second ring, I had this funny sensation of time standing still just for a split second, and a sense that “I’m going to pull a swifty, and you won’t see it happen”. I still remember that.

Then she said “Here it is”, and picked up the ring she’d just “tossed”. But as she did so, I happened to see the ring she’d lost the night before no more than six inches away from the one she was picking up.

Now the odds against that were astronomical. As I said, I thought I’d be talking to her mother sans two rings, not one.

As it turned out, I was able to witness to her mother as a result. I don’t know if anything came of it, but I think God had a bit of a role in the way the second ring landed so close to the ring she’d lost the night before. By all the odds she should have lost both rings, not one. It was just the way I had this funny sensation of time standing still, or whatever just as she “tossed” the second ring.

Certain events-- When I shifted home and could not find a church with english mass, a sudden visit by a friend with the express purpose of visiting the Salesian convent(near my new home-unknown to me!) to express her condolences for the death of a nun whom she’d known long ago, I have been attending daily mass at the convent chapel,(,english,) ever since. And my present home, a direct gift from Mary. It was so uncanny the way things fell into place after I visited her shrine at Velankani(South India,) And they fell into place so fast. I had despaired of finding a home till then,And then suggestions from friends, easy bank loans,I can’t believe it even now.

I know exactly what you mean. I’ve had instances where I’ve truly felt God communicating with me - not in the sense as with apparitions or such, but things I had been stressing about and racking my brain over were suddenly made clear once I put my focus on God.

The most tangible example happened last year. I had been a little stressed as my wife and I were trying to conceive. Then, I missed Mass a couple of Sundays in a row due to traveling and then guests at our house - foolish, I know, but I was weak and sinned. Then, I find myself open to the Enemy because I convince myself that I really should go to Confession before I go to Mass (against, stupid, I know, but isn’t all sin), and then never make time for Confession.

Finally, after three months of failed pregnancy tests, I was thinking one night about how I can’t be acting this way towards God if I am to raise my children in the faith. I resolved to turn things around, and made time to go to Confession that week and attend Sunday Mass. That following Tuesday morning, two days before we left on a pilgrimage to Lourdes, we found out my wife was pregnant. God knew I wasn’t ready to be a father in the shape I was in, and He set me back on His path.

I’ve told this story before, but here goes:

I lost $40.00. It was in my wallet, and then it was gone. I tore the whole purse apart, turned the pockets inside out–it was gone. About 3 weeks later it was Christmas Eve and I was sitting in church before Midnight Mass with my family, when i said to my daughter “I forgot to bring my money for the collection!” She replied “Oh, so did I!” A few minutes later I needed a tissue and I opened my purse , and there, sitting right on top of everything, were 2 neatly folded brand new $20.00 bills!

I was flabbergasted. It was as if the Lord had said “Here’s the money for the collection.”

There is no explanation for it. There was no money in the purse before that, it never left my sight, it was sitting right next to me the whole time. The lost $40.00 just materialized in time for the collection at Mass!
