Are there any tangible rewards for Christians in Heaven (anything mentioned about that in the Bible)?, because as far as I know there is nothing such as gold, palace, or sex as in the Islamic version of Heaven.

I just want to confirm that, because I think being with GOD is the optimal reward specially when we will be in a spiritual form where physics law does not apply to us.

Catholics agree with you - being with God is the ultimate reward. There is nothing else we could desire. The love we feel in that relationship will be so great that it will leave no room for any other desire. The things that give us pleasure in this world will seem small and foolish compared with this.

As salam Aleikum Sam,

You are correct. To my knowledge there are various levels of heaven, with the souls proximity to God and the Angels being the reward. We do not have bodies so we do not require earthly pleasure.
However after the ressurection of the dead, when souls are reunited with their bodies, I gather it will be like heaven on earth. I am not 100% sure about this last part regarding details and how it will happen. If someone could clarify it would be good.

Hi Sam,

I have always been of the opinion that we will, in the afterlife (at least after the Resurrection if not in Heaven immediately) have the chance to use the creative powers that God has given to us. It’s an integral part of human nature. Since there will be a material reality after the Resurrection, then there must be some work for us to perform with it. What better work than creating beauty with which to worship our Creator? Much like what we do now when life permits, except that it will be on a much higher and better plane then as compared to now. A great comfort to a creative person who knows she will never have “enough time” to do everything that catches her eye here in this present life.

I’d welcome any thoughts about what I just wrote.

God Bless,
Joan

p.s. I see you are in exceptionally difficult circumstances, and I will pray for you.

Sam, we do not really know. God has many surprises in store for us in heaven, you can be sure of that.

“What no eye has seen, nor ear heard, nor the heart of man conceived, what God has prepared for those who love him” (1 Cor 2:9) :extrahappy:

Exactly (1 Corinthians 2:9) summarizes that…

Gold, mountains, palaces, sex, etc…, those are all what we have seen, heard, and thought of in this earthy life, BUT in Paradise there will be different things which we cannot imagine now since JESUS have already told us that we cannot.

Thank you all for your contributions.
:blessyou:

don’t understand the question
what is your definition of “tangible”? you cannot possible mean that ephemera like palaces, gold, entertainment are “tangible”.

“Tangible” simply means material or physical things and pleasures, as opposed to spiritual benefits - things we cannot see or touch.
