For starters, no I don’t think tanning lotions are a sin, but it reminded me of my experience with them this week.
I’m staying at my family’s house as I get ready to move to NY, and my dad who is 74 years old uses a bronze tanner on his face. I decided to try his bronzer out and see what all the fuss is about. However, I’ve never used one before so I wasn’t aware that you were supposed to blend it in and he gave me wrong directions by saying “just put it on your face”. Anyway, I was supposed to wash it off after an hour and half but I forgot about it and didn’t bother until later that night. Long story short, I now look like I’ve got hepatitis because I’m sporting this orange/yellow jaundiced look. On top of that, I’ve got this thick orange line at the bottom of my jaw that clearly separates my pale white neck with this malaria yellow tinted face I’ve got now. I’m getting looks all over the place when I walk in stores. I had some people staring at me on the stationary bike yesterday at the gym because they probably saw a pair of stark white legs and arms with a deep orange face. Embarrassing, but too funny. Needless to say, I’ll never try a bronzer again, but may you have better luck than I did.
I’m just glad the crazy stuff seems to be fading today.
