As my tattoos tell the story of my life I would like to add a new one to my collection, I want to get the Coat of arms of the Catholic Church ie. Vatican Coat of arms or flag.
The problem is I can not find a good pic of it.
If you find one online could you please post the link

God Bless

Note:

“Crest” properly means what is on the top (crest) of the helmet, not the shield or entire heraldic achievement (mistakenly called “coat of arms”).

you are right I meant to say Coat of Arms

thanks for throwing me under the popemoble

Do you mean that it isn’t meant to be called a Coat of Arms?

I’m getting my family’s Coat of Arms on my back soon because I am proud of my heritage so I support you in your desire to have a tattoo show your faith.

I am planning on getting another tattoo of some form to “fly the flag” if you like. I was thinking possibly St Michael fighting Satan or something like that. Any thoughts?

I believe that “Coat of Arms” (according to heralds) was the shield–“arms”–embroidered or otherwise displayed, on a tabard (frequently called “coat”), worn by the servants of the armiger (person who actually bore the arms in question).

Another tidbit–the arms of a religious–especially of an abbot or abbess–is displayed surrounded by a Rosary.

Check out www.religioustattoos.net. There are lots of beautiful tattoos there, mostly Catholic in character.

I have also been trying to select a religious tattoo. My mom, who is a tattoo artist, will be in town in July and I want her do do it then. I want it to be over my heart, but I’m not entirely sure what I should get. I’ve downloaded a bunch of images from the above website and will keep you updated 😉
