Was just browsing, saw this, can’t pass it up.
I had a tattoo of my wife’s name put on my left arm just after we got out of the Air Force. Tried to have it augmented with some custom stuff regarding our marriage, now it’s kinda messed up, need a cover up and something to replace it, or have to leave it jacked. There’s one caveat of tattoos.

But, I have two other tattoos of great meaning to me. On my right arm just below the shoulder is the head of an Eagle with “USAF” under it, all coloring in red + blue.
The other is a tattoo of the 1911 frame 45 auto I carry daily, like the one I carried in service, but one the slide is Molon Labe in Greek lettering, on the griip is the AF Command, AF Section of that Command, and the numeric bomb wing with which I deployed to Desert Shield/Storm. That particular tatt to me should indicate to anyone who sees it that, I will not surrender my weapon, and I served with a Bomb Wing that was created for, then dissolved upon the ending of D Storm, along with the Command I was in.
Clearly both are soldier tatts. Had all but the pistol before converting, got it a year ago. Prolly last I’ll have done.
Yet, they all have messages. My wife’s name was and is first & foremost of importance to me.
The USAF tatt with eagle is 2nd.
The Molon Labe is now, since my kids are adults, clearly my 3rd, with qualifying markers of my service to say “why”.
Now all that said, I believe that a tatt of let’s say, 666, or statue of satan, etc., on one’s body anywhere would be sinful. I also don’t feel facial or neck tattoos to be appropriate. But that last one is personal preference…
There, my $0.02 as a tattooed middle age war vet
