Am i morally obligated to remove my sinfull tattos?
Well said, my friend. Is there a way to perhaps change them into something else? No. But depending on what it is, you might want to mitigate the effect that an offensive tattoo has on others.
Pax,

Emily, just to be clear - are you saying that you have a specific tattoo is of a sinful thing (like a devil tattoo) or are you asking if having any tattoo’s is sinful?Am i morally obligated to remove my sinfull tattos?
You realize getting tattoos is a sin correct? While I have tattoos, I did this before I knew God but there is no reason to get rid of them at this point. But, you most definitely should not get Christian tattoos or anything to cover up your old ones.Through my younger years I accumulated some tattoos that could be viewed as demonic (grim reapers and such) I now plan to get psalm 23 as well as a few more Christian tattoos. I feel that keeping the ones that may be viewed as sinful will remind me that I have strayed from God and returned. You can turn yours into something symbolic too if you have something demonic add something angelic overpowering it.
Leviticus 19:28
Ye shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor print any marks upon you: I am the LORD.
Thanks I haven’t read Leviticus yet so I was completely unaware.
Thanks for the reference. Just curious about a couple of things though. First, is the ‘cuttings in your flesh for the dead’ referring to the mourning ritual of cutting oneself in grief that some cultures have done (and that some still do) as a way of expressing their pain over the loss of a loved one? I am aware that grief cuttings have been performed, and I was wondering if that scripture refers to that practice?Leviticus 19:28

Look folks, it’s not going to condemn you to hell but if God was against it and told us not to do it in Old Testament He still command us those same things. He is never changing, if he hates it in OT than He hates it for all eternity.
It’s a great question actually and one that I struggled with as well. We are not bound by the old law since Jesus came but the Old Testament is still used as a learning tool and for reproach. If you believe on Jesus Christ, you can still sin and go to Heaven. But, if you truly believe on Jesus Christ you’re not going to WANT to sin and will have the Holy Spirit living inside of you. THe Holy Spirit is like your conscience but on steroids! (Ok, little joke there but I think you get the point). Thanks for the reference. Just curious about a couple of things though. Second, when you state your opinion “told us not to do it in the OT He still command us those same things” are you including all of Levitical law (or even all of OT law)? Because there are many things we are not to do that was once proscribed. As example, animal sacrifice…or perhaps more relevant, dietary laws (kosher laws). Should we not eat pig, in your opinion.
Anyway, I am asking these questions respectfully, so I hope it comes across that way. I am really seeking to understand your post, both with respect to the scripture reference and how you use it, as well as your opinion at the end of your post. Thanks!![]()
Sorry about that. My anxieties were getting really bad at that point, but they’ve tapered off some.Tattoos? I don’t know anymore, I just guess I have to go by the assumption that if it feels good, it’s a sin.
Heck, I’m just about at the point where I’m just going to throw my hands up and say “Everything’s a sin, no matter how hard I try, I can’t do right.”
I don’t want to find out any more about sins, honestly, my thoughts are consumed by anxieties about sins and hell and what not. Sometimes I wish that God didn’t just let the Devil go to Hell, but just vaporized the piece of junk and that was that. I honestly would rather not have free will and just obey God with no choice. I’d be perfectly cool with that.
He’s more than allowed to post his thoughts, and he’s not all wrong in the aspect of sin. He’s right that we need to fight hard against sin.dgdough must think this site is “Baptist Answers”.
Just out of curiousty, do you wear any mixed thread clothing? You realize getting tattoos is a sin correct? Many might say well that’s because it was paganistic at the time and look at all the other stuff before and after that verse telling us not to eat the blood of meat and all that. We don’t do that anymore. Look folks, it’s not going to condemn you to hell but if God was against it and told us not to do it in Old Testament He still command us those same things. He is never changing, if he hates it in OT than He hates it for all eternity.
Amen to that!We are all one in Christ.
