Taylor Marshall used to drag priest like Fr. Malachi Martin’s name through the mud. Recently he seems to have suddenly come around to exorcisms and such. I wonder why his flip.

OP, it would be nice if you added your own commentary to this video. As Dr. Marshall does not post on these forums, I’m less inclined to care what he thinks. Since you do post here, at least tell us your point of view. Certainly, Dr. Marshall can speak for himself.

I’m not sure why you think he rejected the concept of exorcisms.

Fr. Malachi Martin is not the same as Fr. Ripperger. I never heard Taylor Marshall reject Fr. Ripperger or Bishops like Bishop Athanasius Schneider. There are some he trusts and others he doesn’t. He’s just giving a critique of these people based upon what he found in his research for the books he’s written.

I’ve listened to a few things by Fr. Ripperger. What is everyone’s take on him and what he says? Is he considered controversial? I’ve heard a few things by him that I’m not quite sure I’m on board with.

My point of view on this video is that Charles Fraune has written an interesting book. I know based upon past postings that some people enjoy videos about these topics.

As I watched the video, I thought of how some people here have reacted to previous videos like this and I decided to share it.

My point of view is that Fr. Ripperger, other exorcists, and the people who write about them are worth listening to. As an example, I’ve learned a lot about prayer (meditation in particular) from listening to them, and also from reading the works they suggest we read and study.

Here is an example of a Fr. Ripperger recommendation:

What book(s) are you reading? Popular Media
I’m reading the pdf by Lehodey - The Ways of Mental Prayer
PS: I think exorcists make great teachers. I recommend both Fr. Chad Ripperger and the late Fr. Malachi Martin even though I sometimes wonder about just exactly what the latter was ultimately up to with regard to Vatican II; I do think he was giving us the straight stuff when he was talking basics, and I trust him on those.

Not so much the concept of exorcisms, but how and why they’re facilitated and procured. Go back and listen to his Fr. Malachi Martin show. It’s three hours and he runs him down in the mud the entire time without any real provocation. It seemed Marshall thought Fr. Martin was out for himself after supposedly reading the real Third Secret of Fatima.

Fr. Ripperger to me (he’s great btw), seems to just have better exposure than what Fr. Martin had. For example I was listening to a 1992 show Fr. Martin did with journalist Bernard Janzen on Youtube about the Satanic Kingdom. Fr. Martin not only named Cardinal Wuerl/Mccarick then about sex abuse cover-ups, he also talks in depth about abortion being the 8th Satanic Sacrament. Lo and behold I was listening to a Fr. Ripperger talk the other day and what does he say? That abortion is the 8th Satanic Sacrament.

I don’t recognize the interview you’re talking about, so I’ll have to go find it.

Other than that, I listened to everything I could find by or with Fr. Malachi Martin. For example, I’ve listened to all of his Art Bell interviews.

I haven’t read every last thing he wrote, but I read Hostage to the Devil: The Possession and Exorcism of Five Living Americans. That one has been something I’ve thought about for a long long time . . .

He has some controversial opinions on some subjects, such as women working outside the home. But they’re exactly that - opinions. He’s very knowledgeable in areas such as exorcisms and spiritual warfare.

I think he is very good at explaining his points and defending the faith. Fr Ripperger is a church appointed exorcist and discusses how not to invite the devil into your life.
Fr Ripperger is a priest in good standing with the Church and is doing a lot of very good work. Yes he prefers Latin Mass, but that is his prerogative and he has some interesting cautionary videos for those who strictly follow TLM only.

Just go to Youtube. Search for Malachi Martin Bernard Janzen interview. I’m pretty sure it’s called the Satanic Kingdom.

Someone has uploaded nearly a dozen of these interviews that were done from 1990-1994 I believe. But that one I reference above was absolutely staggering. Everything we are going through (and the Church), was foreshadowed then. Even with him naming Wuerl then was just…wow.
