I just got a copy the book Christian Prayer and I can’t find the Te Deum. Does anyone know what page it’s on?

I don’t have my Christian Prayer with me and I can’t remember but is there an Ordinary in it? I know that’s where it is in the LOTH but I can’t remember for Christian Prayer.

I can’t recall ever seeing the Te Deum in Christian Prayer itself. This isn’t really surprising considering that in the LOTH the Te Deum is only used in the Office or Readings and Christian Prayer contains an incredibly stripped down version of the Office.

However, it should be included on the back of the 1st of the 2 cards of Common Texts included with Christian Prayer.

(It may also be in the book itself. I haven’t seen it but I also haven’t really looked much. I guess it just made sense to me that it might be left out.)

Kristy, there is an Ordinary, but it doesn’t include the Office of Readings.

James, this is a really old second or third hand version (1976). It didn’t include those little pieces of paper with the frequently used texts. I think I’ll just use the one my dad gave me from his version of the LOTH.

Thank you guys for your help.

My version did include the music for singing the hymns and some of the hours:bounce:. That I like!

I just looked at mine and saw that. Thanks for the heads up!👍
And what I had done was just type up the Te Deum and put it in mine.🙂

The Friday and Sunday readings are available for free at Liturgy of the Hours. Go to Sunday; the Office of Readings includes the Te Deum.

They are offered in printable format; so I assume it is still legal to copy them.

I use the black hard bound book Christian Prayer: The Liturgy of the Hours by Pauline Books and Media. The Te Deum can be found in the Ordinary, under the Office of Readings, specifically on page 536. Again this is in my edition of the Office. I’ve seen it commonly in many religious books stores so I assume that it is pretty popular.

Happy Easter!
