I have to wonder whether, under the new handbook, teachers would be discharged for drunk driving.
So is it now standard operating procedure to bring up or allude to the confessed and repented sins of another?

Is this how forgiveness works in the Church of Nice?

No - in the Church of Nice, we smile 😃 as someone else calls out our two-faced politically correct stances, and because we are nice, we keep smiling 😃 as we slide the stiletto in between the ribs.

Much easier to kill the messenger than address the message.

Under the new language being added to the contract, couldn’t protesting in front of the Cathedral be considered an offense worthy of dismissal…the public nature of it and all? If teachers want to keep their jobs, avoiding this protest seems like a wise decision.

You can’t be terminated for a condition of employment retroactively. So it depends on what the current contract says.

If the place I work changes policies, am I grandfathered in so that I can ignore any policy I do not like? No, I am not.

Maybe you mean by “retroactive” that they can’t go back and fire someone who violated the policy before it was put into place. That would be unjust.
