Teachers.

I am a single male. Other than one date when I was 18 I started dating in my late 20’s. Embarrassing, but true

The first girl that I went on a date with at 18 wanted to be a teacher. The second woman when I was 27 also is a teacher. The second woman that I went on a date with is also a teacher. My first girlfriend worked for a school district testing children who did not know english. Then after that the woman that I was talking to for awhile (never went on a date with) was a teacher and a woman that I am talking to right know and trying to get to know is also a teacher. I am not singling out teacher’s on purpose and I do not know if maybe it is just that teachers are attracted to me and I am attracted to teachers. I am not a well educated man. I only graduated high school and was definitely not very academic when I was a student. I went to trade school later. I am a construction worker for a living. Any thoughts on this? Part of me wants to think that maybe I am meant to marry a teacher and this is a hint? lol. Anyone else had this experience with dating a lot of teachers?

I think education is a field that is attractive to people who desire families. (I know it had a pull on me partially for that reason.) It could be as simple as that.

Right.

Obviously, the OP shouldn’t ignore non-educators, but teachers do often have major advantages as wives and mothers:

–solid pay in the public school
–frequently good benefits
–frequently good retirement
–good with kids
–well plugged into the community as well as the school community
–frequently well-informed about education stuff
–a schedule that meshes well with school children’s
–the ability to take time off without the huge penalties seen in many other professions
–ability to work in many different locations

I was a Peace Corps high school EFL teacher before I met my husband and did some adult ESL after grad school.
