Teaching little ones

In the prayer Come Creator Spirit, it is stated:
His promise, teaching little ones
To speak and understand!

Does teaching little ones refer to only children?
 
My understanding is that we as children of God all must learn about our faith in order to be steadfast in it and grow in holiness. I personally never stop learning something new about God and the truths of our Catholic faith. If we said we knew everything, there’s something amiss with our thinking…🙂
 
“Little ones” (“anawim” in Hebrew) can mean either “little children,” or “poor, humble people of low social status.”

(Or both.)
