I love Jesus and Mary and would guard against the uncanny beliefs made by Paul perhaps by superstition, in my opinion.

[19:36] It does not befit the Majesty of Allah to take unto Himself a son. Holy is He. When He decrees a thing, He says to it, ‘Be!’, and it is.
[19:37] Said Jesus: ‘Surely, Allah is my Lord, and your Lord. So worship Him alone; this is the right path.’

I love Jesus and Mary as mentioned in Quran.

My the Grace and Peace of the Lord be with you paarsurrey,

You quoted a translation of al-Quran stating:

[19:34] ‘And peace was on me the day I was born, and peace there will be on me the day I shall die, and the day I shall be raised up to life again.’

I’m curious as to what translation that was taken from? From what little I know of Islam I was under the impression that Muslims don’t believe Isa (i.e. Jesus) died… nor raised up to again. What are the ‘notes’ on this verse?

Thank you and Peace (salaam)

Hi

Thanks for asking a good question.

GodAllahYHWH has mentioned three important phases of Jesus’ life which are in the form of a prayer or prophecy by the person of Jesus. Since, it has been mentioned by GodAllahYHWH, so it is implied that it was accorded a sanction by GodAllahYHWH.
  1. And peace was on me the day I was born.
Jesus was born naturally of a Virgin, though the conception was not made by a male human; the Jews ridiculed her but GodAllahYHWH informed her that they won’t be able to harm her and his child. God will protect her and her child and take care of her till he is a grown up man and is appointed a Messenger by God. So Jesus’ birth was in peace and to promote peace.
  1. and peace there will be on me the day I shall die
Jesus says as informed by GodAllahYHWH that though his enemies would try to kill him for being a Messenger of God, yet they will not succeed in their evil designs. He would survive a cursed killing. He would die naturally and peacefully by completing the mission assigned to him by God.
  1. and the day I shall be raised up to life again
Jesus would die in peace like other Messengers ie Moses, Abraham, Jacob and enter the heaven like them after dieing naturally, in peace, as is with all good and pious people.

I love Jesus. This is what I understand from the above verse.

Thanks

Are you saying Muslims recognize Isa (i.e. Jesus) as ‘His Child’… as the Son of God as well as the Son of Mary?

This doesn’t appear to be what ‘you understand from the above verse’ but what you have been taught to understand from the above verse.

What of Enoch and Elijah whom didn’t die? What of them? Are they not considered Prophets of God because they didn’t die like Moses, Abraham and Jacob?

Hi

Sorry for the typing mistake for the preposition mistake. I have corrected it now.

Please, comment again.

As we have been taught it was not the Jews who originally threatened the New Born King but King Herod. He sought to kill the child who was prophesied to be the Messiah (King of the Jews). This threatened his own worldly rule over the Jews and so he sought to murder every child born in Bethlehem. We recognize this day by a Solemnity known to us as the Murder of the Innocents.

The Jews didn’t turn on their prophesied Messiah until much later. You notes almost seem to be commenting on the rejection of the Messiah by the Jews after-the-fact. A historical commentary.

With regards to the rest of my post you have left blank…

The text appears to affirm the Messiah’s resurrection… and the day I shall be raised up to life again.

“Raised up to life again” seems to suggest what Christians understand concerning the Messiah.

What are other translations of this passage?

Hi

There is the statement of Jesus: ‘But after I am risen again, I will go before you into Galilee’ (Matthew: chapter 26, verse 32). This verse clearly shows that Jesus, after he had come out of the tomb, went to Galilee and not to heaven.

Jesus’ words ‘After I am risen’ do not mean his rising up alive after he was dead; rather, as in the eyes of the Jews and the common people he had died on the Cross, he used words beforehand consistent with what they were to think of him in the future, and indeed, the man who was placed on the Cross, in whose hands and feet nails had been driven till he had fainted from pain, had become as good as dead; if such a man was saved from such a calamity and if he recovered his senses it would not be an exaggeration on his part to say that he had come to life again.

There is no doubt that after so much suffering, Jesus’ escape from death was a miracle; it was no ordinary event. But to think that he had died is wrong. It is true that in the books of the New Testament words of this kind occur, but this is a mistake of the writers of those books, just as they had committed mistakes in recording several other historical events.

Commentators who have made researches into these books admit that the books of the New Testament have two parts:

(1) the spiritual instruction received by the disciples from Jesus (peace be on him) which is the essence of the teachings of the Gospel;
(2) historical events – like the genealogy of Jesus; his arrest and his being beaten; the existence in his time of a miraculous pond, etc. These, the writers recorded by themselves; they were not revealed; rather, they were set down in accordance with the writer’s own ideas.

In some places there are undue exaggerations, as where it is stated that if all the miracles and works of Jesus were recorded in books, the earth would not be able to accommodate these books. How exaggerated is this statement!

alislam.org/library/books/jesus-in-india/ch1.html

Jesus died a natural and peaceful death in India. His body was buried there. Only his spirit like that of Moses and Abrahm was raised to Allah, in my opinion.

Thanks

Hi

Quran tells us more about Jesus:

[4:172] O People of the Book, exceed not the limits in your religion, and say not of Allah anything but the truth. Verily, the Messiah, Jesus, son of Mary, was only a Messenger of Allah and a fulfilment of His word which He sent down to Mary, and a mercy from Him. So believe in Allah and His Messengers, and say not ‘They are three.’ Desist, it will be better for you. Verily, Allah is the only One God. Far is it from His Holiness that He should have a son. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is in the earth. And sufficient is Allah as a Guardian.

[4:173] Surely, the Messiah will never disdain to be a servant of Allah, nor will the angels near unto God; and whoso disdains to worship Him and feels proud, He will gather them all to Himself.

[4:174] Then as for those who believed and did good works, He will give them their rewards in full and will give them more out of His bounty; but as for those who disdained and were proud, He will punish them with a painful punishment. And they shall find for themselves beside Allah no friend nor helper.

NO , NO , NO.

It’s a blasphemy in Islam to beleive that God begets . God says in holy Quran :

Glorified and High be He! From Uluwan Kabeera (the great falsehood) that they say! (i.e.forged statements that there are other gods along with Allah, but He is Allah, the One, the Self-Sufficient Master, whom all creatures need.

He begets not, nor was He begotten, and there is none comparable or coequal unto Him.

( سورة الإسراء , Al-Isra, Chapter #17, Verse #43)

1 Say (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم): "He is Allâh, (the) One.

2 "Allâh-us-Samad (السيد الذي يصمد إليه في الحاجات) [Allâh the Self-Sufficient Master, Whom all creatures need, (He neither eats nor drinks)].

3 "He begets not, nor was He begotten.

4 “And there is none co-equal or comparable unto Him.”

سورة الإخلاص , Al-Ikhlas, Chapter #112

Hi

Thanks for you good suggestion. I have already read Catholic OTBible and NTBible from cover to cover. A potestant Bible is right on my table beside the computer I am writing posts.

One should make one’s own opinion with comparitive study, and that is what I am doing right now.

At least you have a chance to convice me to your side, if truth is one your side.

Thanks

Hi

The Bible presents only a partial record of Jesus’ and Mary’s life account. May be it consists of a few years of Jesus’ ministry only, the rest is only in dark. In childhood, Joseph and Mary took him away out from Judea, may be to Egypt because of a dream. When Jesus came back he was an adult man already. Bible does not give the record of his life of the missing period.

After the event of crucifixion in which GodAllahYHWH saved Jesus’ life he lived in Judea for only, I think, forty days, and from Galilee he, secretly, went to the East ie India and neighboring countries. He took along Mary and some of his trusted frineds.

He left behind only those , who were not his trusted friends, in my opinion.

So, I cannot present you things which are not provided in an incomplete record of the NTBibel, in my opinion.

You may or may not believe what I say, if you are not satisfied with what I say; no compulsion.

I love Jesus and Mary

Thanks

You are missing a lot, Paar. I did not see you quote the part saying that Isa is the Kalimathullah. You are partial, and you are not honest to your own Quran. Please quote all teaching of Jesus and Mary from Quran. Not the selected verse based on your liking.

You did not quote the verse saying the relationship of God, Jesus and Mary.

Wow, you have pre-screened on what you want to show. Please being honest.

Please quote what is written without omission, and you may present your interpretation. No matter how good or bad you defend your interpretation, is does not matter. In that case, that is an adult way to have a discussion. You have the right to believe anything, and no compulsion for you to accept ours. But, at first, you must be fair.

Or perhaps, are you telling me that you don’t believe the Quran verses about Jesus and Mary which you did not quote in this thread?

It doesn’t matter what the Koran says about Jesus or Mary or anybody else, because the whole book is filled with lies inspired by Satan.

This is the main teaching :

Christ will never be proud to reject to be a slave to God , nor the angels who are near
(to God )…holy Quran , Chapter Women , verse 172 ( 4: 172 )

O Mary! “Submit yourself with obedience to your Lord (Allah, by worshipping none but Him Alone) and prostrate yourself, and Irkai (bow down etc.) along with Ar-Rakioon (those who bow down etc.).”

( سورة آل عمران , Aal-e-Imran, Chapter #3, Verse #43)

Hi

As desired by our friend/brother swariffin, I intend to present full accounts/teachings of Jesus’ life and Mary’s life as per Quran; for an adult discussion as swariffin says. This is spread over several Surahs/Chapters of Quran as Muhammad loved Jesus and Mary very much. So, kindly be patient, as I am asked not to omit anything that would be considered, as he says, dishonesty on my part. The faint hearted and the short-tempered may please get aside; this is for an adult discussion.

I will try to provide ten connected verses, in Arabic text with the English translation of Quran in one post, starting with Surah/Chapter Maryam.

I love Jesus and Mary

Thanks

correct me if im wrong,

but the procedure to execute a person via cruxification will have his wrists pierced rather than the hands so that the convict will remain on the cross; and usually death is via suffocation rather than pain~and i think i read somewhere that you mention about none broken bones. well, usually they break the bones of the legs to speed up death so that the convict is unable to push himself upwards to breathe, but in Jesus’s case, he had already died (there was no need to speed things up?)

it amazed me that you obstinately denounced all bibles as false accounts of the events, without even giving much thought as to why the accounts deserve doubt? On the other hand, the material that you derived your knowledge from, you question without doubt, once again, not giving much thought as to why it was without doubt the truth? If you love Jesus as much as you claimed, would you not wish to know all sources regarding him, and carefully go through and access if they are indeed false as you claimed, or true.

It is not very convincing if you simply did not study the situation and make quick judgement, and expect others to be convinced that your judgement is sound.

not only that, if you simply condemn any material that says something about Jesus that you simply do not believe (not by virtue of sound and careful understanding but by blind faith) what you really claim to love is not Jesus, but your own fantasy of what Jesus is. Which means, whom you truly love, is just what you fantasize, and call that fantasy Jesus.

And like you perhaps in this aspect, I also stubbornly stand by the Church’s teachings of Jesus, and I shall pray that you would one day come to understand the real Jesus, the one you claim to love, and only by understanding him, that your love will be valid.

Peace with you. 🙂
