So last School Year, I teased my friend who is a “born again Christian” that I (lay person) can baptize, so yeah I teased her and said I baptized you in the name of… then she got angry when I started to act pouring water on her (but I really didn’t pour water on her). (and I don’t know what’s the formula on how they baptize)

That time I was just joking to her and I know that only in times of emergency that a lay person can baptize.

Uhm, i’m just going to ask if I have sinned after doing that?

You’ve started a lot of threads about whether something is a sin. You really need to talk to a Priest to help you.

As for your friend, what you did was rude and silly. Respect her beliefs.

It was disrespectful, one should not make fun of Baptism, but it all depends on wether you meant any harm by it…

Nah, not mortally anyways. Just don’t joke about such things anymore. I’m sure that you meant no harm. Apologize to the person if you have not already and you can bring it up at confession but you don’t have to run to confession asap as if you purposely killed someone.

Inappropriate, however I guess its better to come at folks with water threatening to baptize, than to come at the boys with a scalpel threatening to give them a bris.

Young people horseplay. I dont think its a sin since it’s meant in good humor. I once had a Bible fight with three friends at church when I was a boy. We essentially slapped one another silly. Leather-bound books can be quite the weapon. Finally, the pastor came by and broke it up. He was laughing a bit because our faces were red from all of the Bible slapping.

For a sin to be MORTAL, not a venial sin, you must KNOW it is a sin and fully INTEND to sin anyway.
