In the Episcopal church how are women “priests” addressed? Do you refer to them as Mother or Reverend or by another term?

I really am wondering how a woman is addressed versus a male priest/minister.

It’s so tempting, just to know that if I joined an Anglican church I could become a priest! 😃
Ohh …the evil Catholic oppression over women… 😦

Not to mention Christ’s opression of women. How dare he not choose female apostles! So sexist!

Notice how it’s always the ‘evil Catholics’. . .not a WORD said about the evil Orthodox Christians, nor the evil Orthodox Jews.😃

Funny isn’t it that the Christians and Jews whose heritage actually goes back to the time of Jesus (and in the case of the Jews, beyond) are the ones still steadfastly following the established God-give traditions and suffering the expected consequences of following God, while the ones wishing to ‘change’ on their own ‘personal whim’ are raising themselves above God by thinking that they are better, wiser, more ‘loving’. . .

Zundrah, you are confusing the heck out of me! You were on here telling everyone that you were converting to Catholicism and extolling how you love your Catholic faith. Now you put down the Church as evil and oppressive? And why is becoming a priestess “tempting?” You have also talked on and on about Mormonism in CAF. I’m thoroughly confused as to who you are and what you want??

Nice point, Alvarillo. Great reply to an absurd statement. Amazing how Mary Magalene and Mary the Mother of God or Martha and Mary, all wonderfully loving/devout followers of our Lord, never were given clerical titles or authority?? hmmmm

Are you not able to see sarcasm? Please tell me you didn’t believe that with the smiley at the end, right?

An Anglican friend of mine were discussing this issue…I asked him what he called the ordained women…he flashed a broad smile and said…“MISTAKES!”

Uh, der…yeah I know sarcasm. I get accused of it all the time, jesusluv. What I saw was actually an angry face something like this:  on the second comment. So, call me old-fashioned, but when I see this:  I assume someone is mad? The first comment: 😃 the second comment:  Seems nice and contradictory and confusing to me. I’m glad you saw it clear as day 😉

I just call them “ma’am” or “Rev. so-and-so”. I’ve yet to meet an Episcopal Priest, male or female, who insisted on being called “Father” or “Mother”.
