Techniques for Scripture memorization?

I recently started memorizing this sermon. It’s very easy to do so because the majority of the sermon is sentences like “He [verb] [noun]” or “His [noun] is [adjective]”. I started abbreviating the words and reciting the sermon from the abbreviations. I’m very close to knowing it by heart:

B s K J, I, r, ta, H, g, K, LL (“The Bible says my King is the King of the Jews, He’s the King of Israel, He’s the King of righteousness, He’s the King of the ages, He’s the King of Heaven, He’s the King of glory, He’s the King of Kings, and He’s the Lord of Lords.”)

K S K. n m m d l l. end str, ent sin, ete ste, imm g, imp p, imp m (“My King is a Sovereign King. No means of measure can define His limitless love. He’s enduring strong, He’s entirely sincere, He’s eternally steadfast, He’s immortally graceful, He’s imperially powerful, He’s impartially merciful.”)

(And so on)

I’d like to know if anyone has used a similar technique to memorize passages of Scripture; or, if not this technique, another. I realize that most Scripture is not as simply structured as that sermon, but there are passages which I think lend themselves to quick memorization, like Phil 2:5-11.

I usually try to do two things to memorize scripture: repeat speaking it (usually whisper) and writing it out as many times as needed until remember. Scripture in other languages (Gr, Heb) is hard to memorize, especially since I’m not a native speaker.
