When I hear the word streaming I thinks of fishing.

How does one stream? can it be done to with an analog TV? How?

Is streaming watching just movies?
 
“Streaming” means recieving some form of media (like a film, song, or video game) in a place that is not where all the technical work is going on. If there was a dvd in a player upstairs, and you were able to watch it on a tv downstairs that wasn’t physically connected to the upstairs player, it would probably be working via “streaming”.

Some people use services to listen to music that is “streamed” over the internet from huge computers that store all the music to their computer: the piece of music is not actually on their computer, but they can still listen to it.

Streaming cannot usually be done in any way on an analogue tv. Streaming is nothing special, and watching a streamed movie is no different from watching it on a dvd player.

“Streaming” is watching videos on your computer, (mobile device) phone, or TV.

You can simply watch videos right on your computer by going to websites like YouTube, for example.

Editing to add that I apologize for assuming that you are posting in the US–this is information for those living in the US. It may be different where you live, if you are not in the US.

Yes, you can stream to your analog TV, but you will need some kind of device to do it with, like a Roku, for example, unless you have one of the newer “smart TVs,” with the built-in technology.

thanks, what direction is cheaper? I know I need to upgrade because salvation army sells everything in my house. lol But, who can afford to?
