Also saw this article on BBC which mentions also that he sang Christian songs:

Alone at sea, he sang Christian songs, read the Bible he carried and kept praying hard, wishing to be able to see his parents again.

He admits that at one point he felt depressed and even considered drowning himself. But he kept himself going through prayer.

It’s good to see the Christian faith mentioned in the news.

That’s beautiful. I couldn’t help but imagine if instead of sensationalist news all news networks would show courageous stories like these that inspire faith as their default.
