šŸ˜‰ God bless you. I’m sure He is very proud of you and that you are trying to listen to your heart. God puts His desires into our heart, and if you are sure that this is the way to go, I pray that it will give you much peace and love within. With Jesus we can do all things. Without Him, we are nothing. It’s such a beautiful vocation–the cloistered or semi-cloistered life. The nice thing about the semi-cloistered life (which the Benedictines embrace) is that you can go home and visit your family. The order you are looking into allows their members to go home 2 weeks a year! That’s more than my order, which is 1 week a year. šŸ™‚

Of course! We’d love to hear about your vocation too:p

God bless you!

I decided to embrace the life of priesthood when I had four significant dreams and three events which I managed to interpret with the help of the Holy Spirit. As I was in my early teens, I am lost and astrayed from God. I done a lot of sinful act which I truly regret of, it hurts me a lot when I think of them again nowadays.

The three main events which mainly involved with the Blessed Virgin, Mother Mary. She talked to me through a person/host twice and through the presence of silence once.
  1. When I was fifteen, after attending the confirmation seminar, I met a warm and caring lady – a stranger. She draws my attention and she talked about the life of priesthood with me. It interests me and I started to think about it. During my talk alone with the lady, I felt a powerful motherly, warm and caring feelings as if Mother Mary is talking through the lady. Indeed it was her.
  2. Few days later, my family fall apart prior to some predicament brought up by my brother. My heart was filled with sorrow. So, I went for a morning mass the next morning. After the mass, I went to the shrine/altar of Mother Mary. I lit a candle and pray in front of her portrait for peace. It was then, I felt a strong and overwhelming presence of peace as if all of my the troubles in my life had been washed away. True, I went home and everything went back to normal. My family are united under the banner of peace. That is when I started to call Mother Mary, Our Lady of Peace, Family and Motherhood. ā¤ļø
  3. Few months later, I was talking to one of my teacher, suddenly, she started to discussing about the life of priesthood with me. Again, I felt the kind of feeling that I felt in the first event. I was startled, what I had done to receive such blessings and grace upon to be personally touched by a divine host, the Mother of God? All of what I have done by then are only sins and yet with all the grace of God, I’m graced by her presence.
Conclusion : Mother Mary grace me with her presence even though I am a great sinner. It is truly powerful and cannot be describe with mere words alone. I appreciate the opinions of others as the Holy Spirit may gives us different thoughts and idea as to what had happen. It is always the will of God. Pray for me. :crossrc:

Thanks for the survey offer. About the four dreams that I had, I don’t think is appropriate for me to tell it as it might arise some misunderstanding. Though if people insist, I could tell. šŸ˜‰

You don’t have to tell if it makes you uncomfortable but I’m sure we would all love to hear it. It’s always nice to hear something that builds up my faith!

Very well then, I’ll post it this weekend. Living in Malaysia as a Roman Catholic is a true challenge. For years, I was exposed to Islamic influence and only limited christian education, I wonder how did I manage it? Do anyone of you live in a multi-religion community?

I want to hear your vocation story! 😃
My story started this way, I never had an idea of becoming a religious sister someday, I am not really attracted to the church, even though I’m studying in a Catholic School. I really live a sinful life, doing a sin for me is just a habit, praying is not a part of my life, I can live the whole day without praying. I almost don’t step on the church even though it is beside my school, unless it was First Friday, our school has a devotion to have a Eucharistic Celebration on this day, but honestly I don’t participate in the mass, my attention is in my classmates, talking.

It was my retreat, which I realized something. I’m a second year high school student. We have a 2 days retreat. I used to think that retreat are just for fun with my classmates, to just play in the night and don’t sleep. But this is the first retreat that I became serious. After I a long silence in my heart and in my mind, suddenly the idea of becoming a religious sister, pop up in my mind. We are leaving the retreat house at that time, then I don’t know, I just told my classmate, ā€œyou know I feel that I want to become a religious sisterā€. But after that, I just forget it, I made my self busy. But then the idea won’t just go away, it keeps bothering my mind.

And it was strengthened by my dreams, I don’t know why I have those kinds of dreams. But I realized that it has meanings, and the idea of becoming a nun, came back again.

"Indeed God speaks once,
Or twice, yet no one notices it.
"In a dream, a vision of the night,
When sound sleep falls on men,
While they slumber in their beds,
Then He opens the ears of men,
And seals their instruction, (Job 33:14-16)

I started to search about religious life, then because of my curiosity, I also talked to a priest and religious sister. Since I’m only a student, I should first focus to my studies and finish it first.

I realized that God really loves me, and I am still praying that His voice be clearer on me. I still have a strong desire to became a nun, and I’m praying that I may nourished it more.

My life before is my inspiration, to serve and love God more, and when I remember it, my desire to serve the Lord, is more stronger. I never thought that I may be drawer close to Him, and this idea will come to my mind.

When there’s a time which I feel that I lose my vocation and felt giving up, someone will come to me, and introduced and they will say that they are praying for me.šŸ™‚

Signs? I don’t know if the signs are already given to me, but the greatest sign that I received is the desire that I have to serve Him in my whole life. But every time i saw nun and priest, I always have an idea to talk to them. I really enjoy being with them. Our school is run by priest, so I’m really thankful that I can talked to them anytime and asked for some advice.

I’m really happy with my life now and I hope that we all find our real vocation in life. Continue to pray for me and for those people who feel that they are being called to religious life, priesthood and other ministerial calling.

But of course I’m not assuming that this is really God’s will in my life, even if it sounds good. I’m still discerning about it.

May God Bless us all!
