I am sixteen and am going to be a nun. I was hoping to “meet” more people my age who are considering a vocation to religious life.

Hi! I’m 13 (younger but a teen still!) and I am also considering a vocation as a nun. You can PM me if you want, I don’t mind, if you want to.

I am most interested in two areas, mostly the Carmelites, who I know something about, or possibly an order where I can teach in secondary school or work with teenagers. What about you??

:nun1:God be with you :nun2:

I agree!!

Only two of my good friends at school know…what would the rest say? Not that I’m embarrassed or ashamed to tell them, but I don’t feel the need…maybe later when I’m sure.

Don’t you hate it when you hear people saying, “Why on earth would anyone want to be a nun? I mean, why waste your life?”
Then I’m like, (in my head),
*EXCUSE ME???*WATCH WHAT YOU"RE SAYING!!!

Has that ever happened to you?

It is so good to hear from you!!😃
I have never had something like that happen. That is so sad:sad_yes: I will pray for you both!

Hi I am 19 and considering a vocation. I feel called to be a religious sister…I like the Franciscans and Passionist charism, but I also really feel a calling to work in orphanages so i really don’t know what’s going to happen.

I’m just giving a friendly reminder that a Catholic Christian’s first vocation is to Jesus Christ 😉

And for those of you who feel called to the priesthood (guys), consecrated virginity (girls), or religious life, I advice you to research, research, research. See what the vocation is like and pray about it. Jesus may be calling you to it. Be docile to His inspirations! 🙂

only a few persons knows tha i am discerning: 2 nuns, my closest friends and my spiritual director. me too, i am not ready to tell the world that i’m discerning.

what i hate is when people started asking me “why don’t you start dating” or “do you have a girlfriend?” then i say no, they say, “what? you are missing a lot”.

I certainly hope not!!😃 😉 What about a priest?
no, I did want to be a monk, REALLY wanted to. But I recived a sign that I should marry when I get older.

if any want the story just PM me and I will send it. We are not alowed to post private stories and stuff that hasnt been aproved by the church. those are considered private revelation. But I know im called to matrimony. Idk why. I want to be a monk.

It stinks because I feel as though I would be closer to God becoming a monk. But can I come close by disobeying. So I have no choice.

oopps didnt mean to be negative or anything :o

No need to feel like that my friend, if God truly is calling you to a married life then you’ll be closer there then if you went against that and became a monk.

In my case I’m 16 and discerning the priesthood for my diocese. Its hard and not very clear at times so I just got to keep praying and listening.

why not take time first to discern, not to make rush judgements now? monastic orders usually receive applicants who are 21 years old and above. Jesus is in your heart. follow your heart!

I think I will be agreeing with this guy:thumbsup:

Dude, there’s nothing wrong with the married life. I’ve had friends, teachers, family members all say I’ll become a priest. However, it just doesn’t seem right for me. I feel like there is somebody in the future for me to spend the rest of my life with. It appears that the best way for me to serve God is by being a good Catholic husband and a meteorologist.

I’m 19 and just trying to be open to where God wants me. I feel a tug toward the religious life but am also drawn to marriage.
