The great Catholic shrine in Africa is the Uganda martyrs’ shrine. A million pilgrims just went there, for the martyrs’ feast day on June 3. Many walk there, some walking hundreds of miles. This tells of one of them, a thirteen-year-old boy walking there to pray for his father’s return. (He would have gone with others in a group.)
