What say you? Is it really so valuable to have a social life, when he is content to avoid all that sin and drama? What’s the down side of him doing his own thing until he meets someone here or there who he may befriend?
My life would be meaningless without having good, close friends. I wish society really understood the value of having people in your life outside of your family that you can rely on, talk to, and just plainly have fun with. Your post is very sad to read, my heart breaks for your son. Hopefully in the future he’ll meet people he can form relationships with.

Friends are nice to have, but let’s not forget that God is what gives life meaning, not friends.
Many of us have times when we are separated from friends through distance, death or conflict. At those times we need to realize our lives are still very meaningful even when we’re quite alone.

Coming back to the young man described in this thread, he has a friend, and I’m not seeing anything describing him as unhappy with his situation. I don’t know why your “heart breaks” for a person who doesn’t sound like they’re having trouble. Not everybody needs or wants the same number of friends outside their family.
