Today I was(again) offered a cig by an 18 year old. He smoked like 3 every 30mins and after 4 offers, was practically begging me to have one at least drag. Now while I’m a not an anti tobacco person I still don’t want to illegally be smoking. It’s just not me to be doing that. Anyways having that in mind I thought to post a poll about offers to have a cig.

I don’t know if that measn I’ve had a sheltered childhood, but I’ve never been offered a cigarette.

This guy seriously smokes that much? Think of all the better things that could be done with that money (especially with the taxes on those things)

whenever I go to the skatepark with my friends sometimes kids will ask us…kids im saying, not adults or teens, kids.

I have never been offered tobacco, but I have been offered cocaine, alcohol, marajuana, etc. But I’ve turned them down. I too, Tim, live a sheltered life, but that’s not enough. You’re just plain lucky.

I believe he was having a few extra just to tempt me. But I agree he could spend the money better elsewhere.

I’ve never really been offered a cig, but one of the carpenters I work with keeps asking me if I’ve started smoking yet, because he wants to borrow cigarettes off me. I’ve never smoked and I don’t think I ever will, second hand smoke makes me feel sick and I hate inhaling it. Besides, cigarettes are very expensive and if you smoke a pack a day and a pack is around 6 or 7 dollars, you can expect to pay roughly 180 dollars a month.

You can rent a parking spot downtown for that kind of money. No wonder your buddy wants to find someone to borrow off of. He should just quit - he’d not only save himself a pile of money, he’d probably also live longer.
🙂

I have been tempted a few times. However, after reading this the temptation has been vanquished.

Pay close attention to how they feel while quiting. Ever want to do physical activity? If you do, I hope you like vomiting!

And the Tobacco companies say it isn’t addictive.

SMOKING IS NOT WORTH IT!

Also, with the information young people get now on smoking, I don’t see how it wouldn’t be sinful.

I am no longer a teenager but I can remember my friends asking me to smoke. Luckily, most did not push me like your friend tried to with you.

A lot of what you do when you are young will affect you when you are older. Smoking ages people. Have you ever looked at older smokers? Their sweat smells like tobacco, they have yellow teeth(unless they get whitening procedures done) and they have little lines around their mouths. These effects are not seen in young smokers but show up after a few years.

Yes his teeth were just terrible. All he could think about is “I need another”. Yes the nicotine will rot and yellow teeth. I’m finding its not the tobacco who is evil but the tobacco companies are. Most of the additives they put in make it much more carcinogenic. It takes 2 pound of tobacco to make about 800 all tobacco cigarettes. Get this most of the major companies use only about 1 and ¾ of a pound to make a just over a 1000. Kinda makes you wonder what people been smoking all these years. I know some folks(over 18) who grow and roll their own. These have little to no additives are less carcinogenic but still can be harmful if consumed like industrial cigs.

I’ve always been offered cigs in high school and now in college. Everyone kind of knows I don’t smoke and never intend to. I’ve made that part clear.

I may have been offered a cigarette once or twice. I just said no and no one pressed the matter.
