Well, I’m in FL, not one of the states you were interested in, but I’m going to tell you about our choir.

We just had practice last night for our Christmas Cantata. In addition to having a choir at 2 Sunday masses, we do a Christmas concert in mid -Dec. Our “Festive Choir” has over 70 singers doing 4-6 part harmony. Our 2 Sunday mass choirs (which combined make up the Festive Choir) often do 4 part harmony. Our Ressurection Choir is all ladies who sing at the funerals. We usually have 10-16 present at each funeral and do 2 part harmony. Our choir is wonderful! I love singing in it.

I must be blessed because every church I’ve ever been a member of has had some talent in the music ministry. I’ve never experienced the “Catholics can’t sing” (ok the choir at the church I grew up in wasn’t very good, but the folk group was). I’m in my mid-30’s and I’ve been involved in music ministries at various parishes since I was 12 (playing an instrument or singing)

The choir that was at St. Joachim Catholic Church in Madera California when I was a child was from the Catholic school of grades 1 through 8. There were no adults that i remember ever singing. I was in the choir when my older sister graduated from the 8th grade. I believe there was a Solemn High Mass that day. These were in the Tridentine Mass days. :clapping:
