The Harry Potter game is fun, you use the remote as a wand and have to move it certain ways to cast specific spells. Wii Sports has us saving money, we no longer go bowling. SmoothMoves Wario is a lot of fun, but one player. The carnival game is fun, you play skee ball and blow uo the water ballons. I also really like Big Brain Academy. My fiance lives for Zelda. Weā€™ve downloaded several of the original NES games.

ah yes, my dh is hoping to introduce me to the 80ā€™s that he thinks I slept through witho all those oldie games.

we canā€™t get our hands on a dance matā€¦ yet.

And for the non kids, in a few months they are puttint out WiiFit, which is an exersize program, you can search it on YouTube, itā€™s totally awesome looking, with step aerobics, yoga, core strength exersizes, and toning.

I love the system simply because you have to move to use it.

DH and I were cruising Target one day and saw they had 2 in stock. No waiting in the cold for us! Although it did take us a couple weeks of checking before we stumbled on them - our Target only orders 12 per shipment. :rolleyes:
 
My son works for Best Buy so he is going to get me all the accessories and controllers I want. I already know I want more controllers and the dance matā€¦

Looking forward to seeing what you guys think is they best accessories and games.
 
My sister in law says that Super Paper Mario is great!

If you can get a dance mat, youā€™re going to love DDR. Iā€™ve played the PS2 version and really want to get my own.
 
Our roommates have one. Itā€™s so much fun!!
We have the new Star Wars Legos Universe!! Itā€™s only 2 players but itā€™s a blast!!

We have played GH3 and RockBand, they are AWESOME!! We have it on the XBox360. I highly recommend them for older kids and adults.
 
Ds has one that is projected onto his wall lifesize!!! It is so funny to go over his house and see all the roomates and their friends playing with itā€¦

Nah, donā€™t bother with this unless you want to see women topless (with bras on, thankfully!) with their thongs hanging out of their pants. We just played it last week and I was a little taken aback by the almost-pornographic images. Joey saw it and kept talking about nursing! :o Hereā€™s an example, although itā€™s not as bad as what I saw on the game: media.xbox360.ign.com/media/899/899096/img_4585753.html

Rather spend the time/money learning to play a real guitar šŸ‘
 
The best multiplayer games IMO are:

Medal of Honor 2, can be played with 32 players online
Wii Sports (4 players)
Carnival Games (4 players I think)
Mario and Sonic at the Olympics
Wario Ware: Smooth Moves
Super Smash Brothers Brawl, due out in february, (4 players, the most anticiapted game by far for the system. It is HUGELY popular with kids).

Madden 08, Mario Strikers Charged, Tiger Woods 08 are great for sports fans.

The best overall games are (in terms of ratings):

Super Mario Galaxy (maybe the best game ever)
Metroid Prime 3
The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
Zak and Wiki: Quest for Barbaros Treasure
Super Paper Mario
Guitar Hero 3 (play it in stores to see if you have problems, I donā€™t own it myself)

A ratings compiler for all games can be found at gamerankings.com.

If you guys are nostalgiac and want to download the old Nintendo, Super Nintendo, Turbographix, Sega Genesis, Nintendo 64, or Neo Geo, buy yourselves a Nintendo Classic Controller (makes them much easier to play).

Be aware your children can surf the web on the Wii, but that can be password protected. it is by far the safest console for children of the big 3 - Wii, Xbox 360, and the Playstation 3.

I bought one the day it launched, feel free to ask me any questions about it or the games šŸ™‚

Sadly wii is pronounced Wee. I have no idea why they named the game that.šŸ¤· Xbox and PowerStation sound powerful. Wii sounds like you have to go to the bathroom.

ONce you get past the name it is a great console.

My kids keep telling me ā€œI wanna Wii.ā€ I point out the bathroom to themā€¦ šŸ˜‰

We did get them one - we have a son who works at Best Buy and he grabbed one for us. We have not gotten any extras for it yet, though.

I still want those two Japanese guys to come to my house - ā€œWII would like to play!ā€ šŸ™‚

I do too! I want the two Japanese guys to show up at my home also. Especially if they bring more wii games. šŸ˜ƒ
 
I heard they named it Wii because it encompasses such a large age range and itā€™s a game everyone can playā€¦doesnā€™t make much sense to me. It was going to be called Nintendo Revolutionā€¦i liked that better. We got ours back in January.
As far as games, we owned Big Brain Academy and sold it back the same dayā€¦it sucked IMO. My DF really likes Tiger Woods golf, Zak and Wiki, Zelda and Super Mario Galaxy. Wii sports is a lot of fun to play. We got DDR for his siblings and Guitar Hero 3 for my brother, those games are really fun to play. Mario Party would be a fun game for all the kids to play together, so would Wario Ware i think.
 
The name actually came from two things.

Wii implies two people playing together, ala, we.

Also, the two ā€œiā€™sā€ in Wii represent two people standing next to each other, since Nintendo wanted to incorporate more family participation this go round.

The orignal name was the Ninetndo Revolution, but they felt it didnā€™t market well. Plusm, Nintendo has a history of not adding another number after the previous console in naming the next one (Nintendo 1,2,3, etc. ala the Sony Playstation 1, 2, and 3)
